Inexpensive essential oils?

Does anyone have a particular inexpensive brand that they use? Do you have links?

I use the Now brand, I get it at the local healthfood store for around $4 a bottle.

Some essential oils are much less expensive than others, but buying retail off the shelf is IMO paying wayyy too much no matter what brand. You can get a better deal from online sources even after shipping if you search & compare prices. I like Essential Oil University. They have a 4 oz bottle of lemongrass eo for less than $6 just to give you an idea of prices. Of course they also have the luxurious stuff that costs hundreds of dollars an ounce, lol. But it's fun to browse and dream! It's even better if you can go in with a friend and build a bigger order so you can share shipping.

the Now brand is great! (if you're going for cheap!)

Are there any good online sites to buy from?

But, if they're cheap, do they work as well? What kinds of uses do you use these for? I am still at the very beginning of learning about oils, but at a seminar I just went to, they recommended young living oils (which are like 30+ bucks each) as a good type which works well. But who knows if that is true, or they were pushing that brand.

If a cheaper kind works just as well then I will look into getting the ones mentioned- I havent bought more b/c I'm not ready to spend over $30 on a tiny bottle of oil.

i think dr. haushka's is cheap... (not sure if i spelled it right) i got a tin of tubes of oils (lavender, sage...)from mil, and she is very frugal, i cant imagine her spending more than 10 bucks on it, i liked it alot too!

I use my NOW brand for cleaning, in the diffuser and have used the lavender oil in the bath. they are pretty good quality (best for the price!) not rancid or weak at all. just not the absolute best quality but definitly ok! (btw the absolute best brands IMHO are Aura Cacia, Frontier and Mountain Rose Herbs) but the NOW brand is reputable and fairly inexpensive.

btw I have never heard of Young Living oils and have been into aromatherapy for almost 15 years!

oh yeah I almost forgot

www.aromaland.com

has some really nice blends too! (these are great if you are unsure of yourself blending or just don't want to buy a ton of oils)

hmmm, now I'm really suspicious b/c the woman (who I do trust and is very knowledgeable) said that aura cacia is the worst and it is pointless to buy it! I've been buying aura cacia all this time b/c it is the most readily available in the stores around here. but if these other cheaper ones work just as well I will certainly invest in a lot more oils! I'm glad to know I don't necessarily have to buy really expensive ones for them to be useful.

There is some controversy about YL, both the founder's credentials and the techniques they advocate for using the oils, in addition to the fact that the prices are outrageous. I don't go there. LOL

Mountain Rose Herbs (look for the link at the top of the page in the "Support MDC" box under "Buy Herbs") has great bulk rates.

I just googled YL out of curiosity. I really think they are making lots of bogus claims just from a brief glance at the website! I don't know how they can say they are the biggest supplier!!! (maybe I have been living in a cave but I have never heard of them before and of they are so famous why?) it really sounds like an MLM type thing.
