Will a conventional wash ruin my un-poo?

I'm going to get my hair cut on Saturday and I'm wondering if I need to request that she does not wash my hair. I'm not sure I have the guts to explain why (I guess I'm a closet un-pooer). Will one wash set me back? I've just been doing it for real for about 2 weeks.
Thanks!!

Naw - you'll go back to no poo and you'll realize how much your hair likes no poo.

You can also request a scalp scrub without shampoo. I actually explained my baking soda and vinegar thing to the guy who cuts my hair and he liked what I was doing, said my hair looked and felt healthy.

Not sure why my hair looks so thin on the bottom (I blame severe anemia I had a hemoglobin count of 7 earlier this summer, so maybe my hair is catching up, along with the season) but the condition of my hair is very good.

Short answer: I did exactly the same thing and it didn't ruin my unpoo.

Long answer: She said, "what product have you been using?" And I seriously thought she meant conditioner (I'm so product-illiterate) and I said ACV. And she said "because there seems to be some build-up on your hair." And did I launch into a long, no-pooing explanation? No! Because I'm a total chicken! And then when I left she tried to sell me some clarifying "product" to help get rid of the film.

Which I did not buy.

When I went in I told the lady that I already washed my hair and to just condition it instead, it didn't wreck my hair.

It will be fine, but your hair will probably like ACV rinse better.

I wash my hair traditionally (w/ shampoo & conditioner) about once a month. It seems to respond to ACV even better after that.

That's what I would do if I ever got my hair professionally cut, which I don't. Now that my hair is used to ACV, regular shampoo really does a number on it! I used some recently because I forgot to cover my hair when sanding 4 coats of old paint off my back door, and my hair was filled with teeny particles of possibly-lead-based paint dust. Wanting to be sure of getting it all out, I sudsed up my hair with my partner's Nature's Gate shampoo (which in my shampooing days was not strong enough to make my hair feel clean!) and it turned me into a horrifying frizzball.
