i turned 39 weeks on sunday and on monday i noticed something was definantly different about the baby. so, i had my midwife come over and feel around and sure enough he/she had flipped around! i was having real good y show LAST sunday and have spent the last week in total impatient waiting to meet this little one and now its turned around and floating completely off my cervix.i had my last baby at 38weeks and i am miserable mamas!!! here i have been leaning as close to a UC as possible and mid midwife is now too uncomfortable to go into it without another midwife, so i have meet new midwives and i DONT WANNA.

Ugh how frustrating! This has been a big fear of mine, that baby would of course flip right at the end. Have you checked out spinningbabies.com to try to get him to flip back?

HI! s: I know EXACTLY how you feel. My DD flipped twice (once was much earlier), but we went in at 40 weeks and found out she had flipped again!! I wanted to do everything to have a natural in-hospital birth, and my sweet doctor let me wait it out, even with the fear of her gaining more and more weight and not being able to flip on her own. She didn't flip on her own at all and I tried EVERYTHING!! Head on the floor, butt up on the couch, MOXA sticks (ancient homeopathic "remedy"). Everything short of accupuncture. Nothing worked, so we had to do the version in the hospital. I won't give you any horror stories, because mine actually wasn't that bad. It took about 7 minutes start to finish and, while really INTENSE was not excruciatingly painful. PM me if you want to know more or have any other questions!! OTHERWISE, hang in there! You both can do this. Also, if your baby is like mine - - - this is an interesting personality trait that has followed her through at least her first year of life. She's A BLAST!! I mean it!

That is frustrating! On the other hand - since you know he can flip that way, he can always still flip the other way! My brother was breech up until my mother went into labor - and right before her cesarian he flipped so that she could have a vaginal birth. I hope this happens for you. Good luck!

thanks for the responses. i have tried the breech tilt and pulsatilla. i am extreamly uncomfortable with the idea of a version, as the can be risky.
now my midwife tells me not only does she want someone else there, but that they will be the attending, not her. i really really dont like this, because i have had 8 months to really explain my desires and learn to trust my midwife, only to have to meet some other lady right before labor and hope that she dosnt "take over" my birth....sigh

Remember: if baby has room to flip, he has room to flip back.

My friend had this happen. Her midwife recomended a special belt or maybe it was a girdle that kept the baby from flipping again. It worked and she had a three hour labor. this was her second baby. so the baby had more room to flip around than a first time.
