Is there anything I can add to the laundry when washing non-organic baby clothes that will help to remove pesticides and other bad stuff? Obviously, there won't be a method good enough as buying all organic clothing, but I have a lot of used things I plan to use. I thought I heard adding vinegar to the wash can help? I'm just not sure how to find information on this. Any help you can give is appreciated!

All the pesticide residue will have washed out by the 2nd or 3rd normal wash, so if your clothes are used, they're already clean

Cotton goes through a tremendous amount of processing. It has been wet, dry and put through bleach processes before it's ever made into a garmet. Just washing to remove the chemicals used to give the fabric it's finish will be fine. The organic fabric is really more to cut down on the chemicals left in the ground and to eliminate the heavy bleaching which takes place in processing and well as toxic dyes.

that is not exactly true. first off, the bleaches ect are toxic. secondly, formaldehyde is put on all non organic fabric ( don't ask me why). you can help to wash these chemicals out by adding a cup and a half of vinegar to your wash load. a drop of lavender will make it smell nice too.
