When can you stop feeding a baby formula?
I had medical problems and had to quit BF. I HATE feeding DD formula. She is almost 7 months and 21 lbs. At what age can you stop formula ?

I believe the recommendations are at one year.

1 year.

I had to FF my DD, and we kept her on formula for just a little over a year (maybe 1 or 2 months), because she had no interest in solids at that point. Once she started eating more solids, at around 14 months or so, we stopped the formula and started giving her milk (both cow and soy).

I seem to recall reading that goat's milk was ok to use before 1 year (especially raw goat's milk). Of course, the Price Foundation has recipes for formula based on raw cow's milk.

I used formula to supplement, and I remember being very eager to stop using it. I did a lot of "googling" to find out which milks were better choices before 1 year.

i know someone that fed all raw goats milk when she couldn't bf... so you could look into that. it's the closest to human milk.
