My son is intact and we take great care of him...taking care of a baby, mentally, physically and emotionally is very hard...however..I am playing on the computer right now (while my ds sleeps) and I SHOULD be doing the dishes.....OK so I'm a little lazy

That makes no sense considering that circumcised penises are touted as being easier to clean : Next they'll be alleging that we're just too cheap to pay for it

Maybe the word is finally getting out there that intact penises require no special care, but circumcised babies require wound care, vasoline, gauze, Tylenol, and commonly experience adhesions and meatal stenosis.

But I said this too many mainstream moms, including a 2 sisters, mother, couple of cousins and I would say it to anyone who askes...

It usually goes like this, So are you (have you) circ.
No, I (ha ha) am too lazy OR I don't want to take care of it after it is cut off. I am going to be busy enough in the first few days and weeks.
Oh my G*D won't he get infected, dirty ect....
No I actually don't have to do anything to take care of him. He is just fine and has not had any problems since birth.

I then get a give it time look from them and kiss my intact son

Unfortuantly this and additional information did not keep my cousins wife from circing their new son. I don't understand why parents don't educate them selves.

I am too lazy to sleep alone and I am too lazy to snuggle with a blanket, I prefer my dh, dd, and ds!

I'm also far too lazy to bottlefeed and use it as an excuse quite frequently. I'm also too lazy to put my child to sleep in another bed because then I would actually have to get UP out of my NICE WARM bed in the middle of the night : I'm too lazy to struggle with a stroller too... those things are a PAIN. The wheels never line up and you can't go up stairs or take shortcuts. I can also never figure out the brakes...

I haven't said that about circumcision, but nobody has asked why I didn't circumcise dd

sounds to me like something someone who is pro-circ would say to take away from the REAL reasons people choose not to circ. so much easier to say "you are too lazy to circ" than "you want your son whole cause it's his decision and you don't want to hurt him or mutilate his body"

to say that I chose not to circ because I didn't want to mutiliate my son is correct but scary for others to hear. I know these people are not going to change as the son's are all circ and formula fed.

. You got me! That's exactly why our son is intact, that and the fact that we are just too cheap. /sarcasm

Unfortunately, I have heard that and still find it amazing (and ridiculous) that anyone can claim that. How about the truth? Ready? We left our children intact because their bodies are theirs, we respect their rights to their entire bodies, circumcision is an unnecessary surgery, we didn't think that causing them pain was a good thing, if a foreskin was unnecessary, wouldn't we have evolved without one?, ......etc, etc, etc,

Sorry for the sarcasm, that type of attack is completely ridiculous, imo, and I find it pathetic that someone would use that as fodder. It's as if by someone calling me too cheap or lazy, that I'm all of a sudden am going to go "Yeah, you're right! I'll go out right now and do it, because I really care what you think of me!" Bah! Utter rubbish and completely childish. If my children come across this type of attitude in the future because their intact, they'll be better off; they have their shallow person filter built right in! (Thanks Sammy!)

I know exactly where you read that!

It is probably in response to something I wrote. It went something like: I had to laugh when I read a pro-circ mom saying that the whole horrible ordeal of circumcision was worth it because her son's penis is so easy to clean... when all I do to clean my intact son is stick him in the bath. I never wash his private parts in particular, they get clean enough just soaking in the water. I don't know how much easier it gets than doing NOTHING! :

So apparently, I'm just too lazy for all the hard work of dealing with a circumcision. Slothfulness is probably my main character trait. :

I must admit I was totally lazy about trying to think up a good excuse to circ, so I didn't circ simply b/c I couldn't think up why I would. If I had simply worked at it harder maybe I could have thought up great reasons like so he would look like his dad, but I was way too lazy to wrack my brain that way.

Well, (you know, all valid medical reasons and civil rights reasons aside) why should we add the care of a mutilated penis to our plate. I mean, babies need to be nursed and held and cuddled and bathed and nursed and held and cuddled and...... I'd certainly rather spend my time doing that.
