Exactly WHY is my flow heavier post-motherhood

I assume this is true for most women, that after being a mother AF flow is heavier than pre-motherhood AF.

Why? I mean, do I have more uterine tissue now or something?

I'm not talking about lochia, just to be clear - but the regular AF long after the birth.

Hey, I don't know - but I have the same problem. Well, had especially after our second son was born. It was baaaaad. Had to quit using any disposable menstrual stuff because they seemed to ultra-absorb the very life from my bones. So I'd like to know too!
