How to cut fleece straight help...

Thread Starter
HI,
I used a scissor to cut fleece fabric to make cloth diaper liners and they are coming out not straight and all wobbly. Without using rotary cutter, is there a way I can cut fleece straight?
Thanks.

Do you have a healable cutting board? If so, you could stretch and pin it to that. Don't really know, though. I've only used the rotary.

Are your scissors very sharp? That could make the cut less "wobbly."

It may just be streching while you cut it, I would rinse or wash some that is cut and it may go back to the right shape.

Are you just cutting freehand or cutting along a line?? The surest way is to use a ruler to draw lines with a soft pencil or a washable marker (or even permanent marker if the edges won't be showing), then cut along the lines. And, like a PP mentioned, the edges might look wobbly when you cut but that's usually because the fabric gets pulled when you're cutting, and they'll usually go back when washed.

I cut my fleece along the fold of my table. We have one of those folding tables that folds down from the center. I mark my fleece at intervals and line it up along the fold. My scissors fit right along the fold and it helps me hold them steady with one hand while I hold the fabric with the other.
