Hanging posters

For those of you that hang posters or maps on the wall, how do you do it? I know it's a bit of a bizarre question, but I figured it might best belong in the hs'ing forum as I'm sure there are a lot of hs'ers that like to hang environmental things like posters! :

With Blu-Tack

yeah don't get the white one that is marketed for posters. Get the blue tak works much better and is REALLY sticky

I also use 3M command adhesive mounting squares (or whatever they are called). I like them because they lie flat against the wall and don't leave a residue on the paint when I take them down.

Yep, that's what I do here.

How strong are they? I'm mostly worried about the wall maps as they are pretty big. Thanks

We hang our Christmas stockings on command hooks...and Santa is very generous to us! I think they'll stand up to a big poster.

We just use thumbtacks. :

Thumbtacks don't stand up to an insane toddler on a stool. Then you've got a torn poster to tape up and put back.

If you house is insane-toddler-free, the thumbtack is a cheap, low-mess choice though!

Yup - no toddlers underfoot. Hopefully soon, though. :

No thumbtacks around here ... 5 year old, almost 3 year old, and currently 4 month old, who will eventually be mobile. I think I'll track down some of the 3M square thingies, and if I can't find those, the Blu-Tack. Think either are found at Targer? Do I need to go to a hardware type store?

currently we are using thumbtacs, but as the seasons/weather has been changing here we have been having a problem with tacs gaining a life of their own. :
We have litterally had some go flying for no reason. One in Dh's office almost hit him in the head.

Once we get moved in a couple of months I think that I am going to look for a new way to work this.

I haven't had any problems with the toddler/preschooler climbing things to get at the posters other then she'll climb and sit up on top of what she climbed and talk to the picture on the poster. Nos the SID/ADHD Dd who Dh and I think is needing a re-evaluation is a completely differant story. : But, then again tearing paper seems to be a calming thing for her.

I'm using thumb tacks on the wall right now.

We have a metal door near our school area that I have hung papers on with magnets. Maybe magnetic paint would make a nice place to hang things up?

I've thought about using velcro to hang things up. It is supposed to be removable.

There are some tools/ideas for displaying maps here.
