I am on my way to go withdraw Malana from PS in just a few minutes. Please wish me luck....my stomach is in knots.

Thank you ladies for all of the advice and support since I have been debating what to do about schooling my dd.

Good for you for being in tune with your DD and doing what you think is best for her!!! Welcome to homeschooling!

Oh, gosh! You're really going to do that? Aren't you afraid you might mess it up?

Just kidding!

~Have a wonderful time!!!~

And don't forget you'll both need lots of decompression/deschooling time...

I know that feeling all too well. Now that we have been homeschooling for a few months I feel much more confident, no more nervous stomach. Best of luck to you on this new journey...

Happy Homeschooling!

You can do it! And you can change your mind. Follow your heart and listen to your child's heart.

Best wishes, Pat

You'll be so much happier...we are on our 2nd week of hs'ing, and we love it. Yesterday was "one of those days" but today has sure been nice.
I even think my ds is listening better, he definately is helping with his chores more than he ever has. He is more clingy (only to me and not his dad at all?) than he normally is, I'm not sure what thats all about but no biggie.
I'm already looking at what curriculum I want to use next year lol!

oh yay! Glad you made the decision to pull her out! You won't regret it! Welcome to the world of homeschooling

Congratulations!!!

Also, don't worry if at times you feel wistful about the old sense of belongingness that being part of a school brings. That's natural!!!
There are often feelings of foreboding and isolation that come with this transition.

I second the poster who encouraged a decompression/detox period!
This would be a great week to collect leaves, read aloud, listen to music, and bake bread. Or, if you're all more outwardly-oriented, go to the library or book store, hang out reading things to each other in a coffee shop, visit a museum, go rollerblading.... enjoy each other!!!!!!!!!

Time is so precious. What a gift it is to be able to share it with people you love.

peace,
