If plastic is not the best thing to freeze your foods in then what is? All I know is plastic containers or bags. I want to do good for the family, but I don't know how.

i've been trying my hardest to get away from plastic containers as well, but it's hard b/c so far i've found that ziplocs give me the most storage space in my freezer. Although it's much easier and better to save and freeze my chicken stock, soups, ect in glass jars just regular mason jars that you would use for canning. BUT be SURE not to fill them to full as they liquide do expand then they freeze and will bust the jars and break all over mess!!!
thoes are the best i've found so far... not sure what to freeze items like meat balls, ect in, usally tin foil maybe??? not sure stuff like that i still stick in ziplocs...

If you use sealer/canning jars, just make sure to freeze them with the lids off, and then place the lids on once totally frozen. I have had a few burst that had extra room and a loose fit lid. What a waste of food.

OK, I kinda thought glass jars would work, but then, I thought they would bust, so thanks for that info. What else for the other stuff? It seems it would have to have a tight fitting lid or else it will freezer burn defeating the whole purpose of freezing for any duration.

they had great ideas on the food forum where i double posted. they do have plastic lids as you would need for a tight fit, but they said it does not touch the food. thought i would share. my question is aswered. thanks.
