how long for my body to recover?

I'd apreciate any wisdom or links about how to judge when your body is too depleted from the demands of pregnancy and nursing, and how long to wait to let the body really recover from that.

I've been pregnant, nursing, and miscarrying constantly for 5 years now. I know now I need to take care of me for a while before having another. But I haven't found reliable info on how long to do this, or on specifics of what I should do besides eat right and excercise. Maybe there's specific vitamins I need....?
Is there a term for this? I don't know what terms to search for.

Hey another VERY closely spaced family, I have 3 under 3 and totally know how you feel about your body recovering. I have been taking Calcium/Magnisium, Vitamin B 100s, and Fish Oils to try to get back to normal.

from what i have read, the woman's body needs at least 9 months after a live birth to recover, and for miscarriage it depends on how far along the pregnancy was, but it can be as soon as you have had one regular period.

to elaborate, I know calcium stores are used for both gestation and nursing and that can lead to osteoperosis... but what other things may negatively affect me- both in the long run, but also I just want to have a happier, stronger pregnancy (my most recent one was notably rougher on me)

My first OB assured me I could have 2 back-to-back without long-term consequences, but not to repeat that feat. But he didn't give references. that's what I need now.

If you're not a veg you might check out the traditional foods forum and post your question there. I believe 3 year spacing is the closest thing to an answer you'll get from them along with great nutrition advice, IMO.
