I have bought it at Big Lots several times. It was much cheaper. I have checked three times lately & they haven't had it. So I bought some at Walmart a few weeks ago. It is just great Value brand. The cheapest grade they had. The books I read before I started soaping recommended not using extra virgin.

The thing is, you don't really *need* extra virgin in soap, and if you use extra virgin it will retain that olive oil smell a little.

Also, darker oil will produce darker soap.
$15?!?! Lucky girl! I just re-stocked my supply and it was $23 at my Costco :

I have been wanting to make some soap after i tried some really good stuff that had a little abrasiveness to it (maybe salt) and also after i used some that had a loofah inside it.

You can find ground apricot seeds or whole strawberry/rasberry seeds from soaping places. Loofah is nice too some places sell it ground up. If your skin is really sensitive the strawberry seeds can get a little bit scratchy.

Salt will just melt away in soap, but it adds to hardness a little.

I tried some kelp...but it seems to make CP soap smell rather bad. So if you are making CP soap I would advise AGAINST the kelp (dang...it seemed like a good idea at the time )

For a gentle & skin soothing "abrasive", try processing rolled oats in your blender until they are a fine powder, and then adding to the soap at a bare trace. Make sure to MIX WELL after adding, and sprinkle it in rather than dumping in a clump.
