Ok, this is probably a really stupid question, but I figure if I don't ask it I'll just be thinking about it more than necessary...

This is my first baby and I have nothing to base any knowledge on. What the heck do contractions feel like? I've heard all sort of descriptions... from stabbing back pains to feeling like really bad gas cramps. Of course, after having read Ina May's books I'm hoping for more of the orgasmic feeling

But seriously, I'd love to read some people's descriptions of what it felt like for them.

Like menstrual cramps, only magnified, and with a definite peaking sensation as it slowly increased in intensity and then died back down.
