Stretchy fabric

How do I get stretchy fabric to stop doing the thing where it was rippled edges wherever I sew? It's so annoying because I'm trying to sew a diaper with a flap-out soaker!

It sounds like you are over stretching as you sew. It's tricky.

If your machine allows for you to adjust the pressure of the presser foot - you can try decreasing the pressure. If you have a walking foot - use it if you haven't been or stop using it if you have been. It can be tricky, but keep trying. Sometimes what seems like a big deal to a grown up doesn't bother the baby...

sounds like you might be using too small of a stitch!
Make your stitch bigger and see if that helps!

If you don't care how much the finished diaper stretches, you can add a stabilizing layer of flannel or another woven. And if you have a serger with differential feed, use it, even if you plan to t&t.
