I know I should be resting, but I'm very excited. I lost at least part of my plug around 4 today and have been having fairly regular (but short) contractions for about an hour. Of course with my first this went on for a full 24 hrs. which is how I know I should be resting. Anyway, DH & DS are upstairs snoozing, I hate to wake either of them just yet, but like I said, I'm getting excited. is it wrong to watch SNL?

Yup, you're probably getting real close. Get your ZZZs while you can, this may your last chance for a while.

Sounds really close! Do go get some sleep (like I can talk - hehehe). My friend just had her baby three weeks ago - and lost her mucus plug about 24 hours before delivering. Of course, that is never a true sign (you can lose it weeks in advance), but it can also be the start of labor - and yours sounds more like that given the contractions.

After I responded, I spent a sleepless night feeling sure I was in first stage labor. I'm still sort of wondering if I am. I feel crampy and have been having mild contractions all night and day so far - but nothing has increased as I was hoping. I wonder if I'm in for a long night tonight of if things will stop. Anyway, just wanted to chime in

It turns out, it was it! 3.5 hours, fast and furious labor. The midwife arrived 20 minutes after the baby, which was so crazy. Luckily my mother was there to help and everything turned out great after an initial scare with the cord.
bertrandsgirl - how are you doing? babe in arms yet?

Whoohooo!!!!!!! My 3rd was 3hrs start to finish and it was fast and furious as well. Everyone talks about short births like they are awesome, but I was like "shoot, add 2hrs to that next time " LOL

Yeah!!! Way to go Eli's Mom! I'm so happy to read that.

Ummm...I just put up a tearful vent in the "overdates" thread. I was in false labor from 3am Saturday until about 8pm last night. I was shocked that I didn't have the baby and the cntx stopped. They were getting closer and closer and more intense. Today I haven't felt anything. Dont' know what all that means, but I'm still happy that you have your babe in arms
