How's everyone doing?

Trinity is growing like a weed still - we guesstimate she is around 10 lbs or so at 6 weeks old. I still can't believe she's still in newborn diapers though - I'm on my 8th pack of pampers swaddlers newborn. SHe's got oodles and oodles of fat rolls though : We'll get a weight check tomorrow at wic if they aren't busy. She's standing up with support, and nursing like a champ still. We even are learning to NIP!

I get cleared to go back to work tomorrow and finally managed to get a pump from WIC to use while at work . I have to go at the crack of dawn in the morning to pick it up And then I start back to work probably Thursday or so - depending on how much sleep I get and how we're doing.

Doing ok here, Alden is also growing fast...I have a Midwife appt on thursday, so I'll have him weighed there, but my guess is around 11 1/2 lbs or so (he'll be 6 weeks on wednesday).

He's still not sleeping much, just restless mostly. He'll fall asleep and then 3 minutes later he's awake again. Literally.
He's been doing that for most of the day, and then usually at night till midnight or 1 AM.
Then I have to get up at 7, so tired Mommy here.

Last night, between both the boys, I was up pretty much every hour. Nothing like waking up to your almost 3 year old pissed off screaming for you to get in there and sleep with him :

Anyway, other than that things are ok. Breastfeeding is going well, he gets a bit stuffy in the mornings though; I'm wondering if he doesn't have some food sensitivities.
I've stopped eating all dairy and chocolate (: ), and wondering if I should eliminate wheat for a week or two as well.

Ah well, at least he doesn't cry much. In fact, DH was just saying the other night that he doesn't mind holding him, and feels bad handing him off to me when he starts getting upset, but the fact is he just doesn't cry when he's with me.
Kinda weird after how the other two were!

We're doing okay here. My moods have been a bit more consistent, migraines a little less and she is sleeping 4 hour stretches at night, at least a few nights anyway. My bleeding totally stopped at 3 weeks. Oh happy day!
The night before she was up nonstop. Not fussy, but just wants to party and be social. We had a fire in the fireplace in our room, and I wonder if the flickering lights kept her awake. i ended up sleeping upright and holding her most of the night. We had the other kids sleep in the bed with us, but we have so many blankets and down comforter that I am concerned about it. We are working on backing up her schedule by 30 mins a night to get her in sync with the rest of the household. hey, I love Jay Leno, but not Conan!
I have no idea what is up with my milk supply, but it is engorgement all over again. My letdown is shooting across the room and I have enough milk for 4 babies. I am getting these pains up under my arms and my breasts ache. I am watching for mastitis or plugged ducts. Seems I am on the brink. She isn't nursing more. I pump once a day for "stockpiling" and only for 5 mins. In that time, I pump about 7 ounces total, and that is right after I nurse her. The rest of the day and night I stay far away from it so I don't encourage them! I am going through nursing pads like nuts.
I started at school on Friday and I had not one issue with pumping or break time. It was fun to see friends again and brag about my labor! (to a bunch of nursing students who see it as something that needs to be medicated).
We bought these swaddling blankets at the store. I was a bit skeptical, but she loves it! And they secure, so they stay put. Dh calls it the straightjacket blanket. Ooops, there goes the food alarm!

we just had our two month visit with the ped.... she's up to 10lb 5oz at 9weeks! go breastmilk! she went from below the 10th percentile to the 40th percentile in a month : ! i have to say, i am proud of the little chunky monkey!!

we survived the visit from my mil... it was a loooooong four days: . sometimes i wonder how i can deal with this human being for the rest of our lives . and i wonder what effect she will have on my baby. i am trying to be very positive and accepting and loving, man oh man, it's a challenge sometimes.

on a better note, isa is consistantly sleeping through the night now. woohoo! usually from 10-6:30ish and then back to sleep til 9am or so. love it. she is eating for shorter amounts of time at each feeding now too... is that because she is more efficient or something? i know she is hungry? my milk supply has really ramped up since i have started pumping. i wonder if she get more milk in a given amount of time now? the overnight engorgment is out of control, and quiet painful. any advice?

ahhhhh. good to see her smiling and giggling and cooing so much these days. makes all the pain and hard days more than worth it!

wow sleeping through the night!! omg! ds didn't do that consistently until 3ish months!! good for you though!

i think we are in a growth spurt. shes eating every hour or so during the day : but last night she didn't very to much (slept about 5 hours and then every 2-3 after that).

anyone elses babe kinda look at you like your from another planet when you try to get them to smile? She doesn't smile a whole lot yet. But ds didn't either.

Can't wait to see what she weighs tomorrow!

Wow this is my first post in a life with a babe thread...!

Bubys now 3 weeks and 4 days and she is doing fantasticly, nurses really well and is now about 8 and a half pounds. She sleeps really well fron about 10pm - 4 or 5 in the morning feeds, then goes back to sleep for another few hours. We have the odd bad night where she gets really bad reflux, but I'm sure its something I'm eating so I've been going through a process of elimination... It's not dairy (woo hoo ) so i'm not eating grains now and I'm gunna see how that goes.

Unfortunatly she still doesn't have a name and as we're coming up to the 4 week mark I really need to get deciding, I'm sick of getting the "Your a useless Mother" look from people when they ask her name and I say "Ah.... She doesn't have one yet".

But life with her is great I just have to find her a name.......!

Evan doesn't sleep much during the day. He passes out for a little bit here and there if I'm holding him. Otherwise, no. But he sleeps WONDERFULLY at night. Usually puts in a 6 hours stretch, then eats and sleeps another 3-4 hours.

It's hard during the days because my 2 year old doesn't nap either. The whole house is crying and screaming at about 3 pm everyday. It sucks, but I won't complain because the sleep at night is awesome (and something we didn't get with my dd until she was 27 months)

Wow.... : As stupid as this sounds it never even occurred to me that could happen.................! Buby sleeps quite a bit during the day but almost always as soon as I put her down she wakes up so I just carry her round with me and she sleeps.

Yea, with Elisabeth I have to bounce her on the ball until she's sleeping. Then go and sit in the rocking chair for 30 minutes until she falls into a deep enough sleep for me to put her down so I can sleep myself. I do this like 5 times or more a day! aaaahhh!

She hasn't been sleeping well at night either. Then she'll have these days where she sleeps all day long and wakes up at night! (She's doing this now, so I'm assuming it's going to be another rough night.)

She's nursing just about every 1.5 hours for the last 3 days. She's 6 weeks now, so it must be a growth spurt. She's out of all her 0-3 month clothes and even fits into some 6-9 month outfits! It's insane!! She is so long and has huge feet, but it skinny. I can't wait to see some baby rolls

I'm feeling a bit isolated as she hates the car so I don't drive anywhere. It's hard being stuck out in the country with nobody around

I hope all you mamas are doing well! This DDC has been pretty slow lately...

nak

im going insane 2. dd is nursing every 2 hourz and its not a growth spurt since this is right after several days of every hour nursing. she isn't sleeping well either. usually 1 good (i can put her down) 2 hour nap during the day and maybe a 3 hour stretch at night by herself. other than that its in 20 min. increments during the day which i have 2 keep putting her back 2 sleep and 1-2 hours at night sometim es with me sometimes not.

also hating the carseat. 10 min into a trip its screaming. i hate staying home and am stir crazy w/ dh working 12 hr shifts through the weekend.

Xan is just getting out of a his 3 week growth spurt. It lasted 4-5 days I think... he was nursing literally 3-4 times an hour while awake, and was up every 90 minutes at night. WHOA.

I'm glad this is ending, that was intense!

I can feel the weight on him and he's into 3-6 and some 6-9 month clothes after that. I have to sew him some more diapers! I thought I had more time. My stash has some newborns and not a whole lot of smalls before a transition to medium. He's not into medium but he's in that in-between small stage. When my daughter hit this stage she was 3-4 months old so I thought I had plenty of time to bulk up that part of my stash... but he's HUGE! I need to get sewing, pronto. :

No one is sleeping very much here... we are exhausted. Dh gave me a nap today which was great, considering I got 4 hours of broken sleep the night before and about the same last nigth. She has a bit of a cold and is congested and what we call snorgoly (snore-go-lee). She has really got her days and nights mixed up. I can't wake her up during the day and then she wants to party all night.
School is in full force and the assignments are piling up.
Feeling pretty : The house is a wreck, I have had a shower in 24 hours and I would like to brush my teeth and I have no motivation... oh man, is the ppd?
So, my bleeding stopped well over a week ago and then I woke up yesterday with bleeding, pink and then red. Oh, bummer. Just a couple of pads worth. I had crampiness all day and some sharp pains in my pelvis. I haven't been running a marathon, but have been on my feet more with school and walking around campus and the hospital.
Well, today off me feet more and the bleeding is much less, but still having pain off and on. It is more on the left side then on the right. Wondering if I should call the doc... no fever. Any ideas?

Well, here is to hoping that all us Sept mamas get some sleep soon! or drink some

Hmm, been wondering this for a while, but what does "nak" mean?
I'd say you're doing too much and need to take a mom's day off!

NAK = nursing at keyboard
You got it! Thanks for the NAK knowledge.
Going to go shower and then hang out on the sofa... think i will order pizza for supper.
Sometimes, I think I can do it all. My folks were notorious underachievers, so I blame it on them.... my mom was always to "sick" to do anything and my dad was too tired. I hate those excuses for me. My mom even encouraged me to quit bfing to get more sleep.
Better hop in the shower before my golden op disapears.
