Yes antibiotic use has caused these bugs. BUT simple handwashing can keep them from passing from person to person. About 97% of all bugs (viral and bacterial) can be deterred through handwashing!

Not to mention restraining oneself and ones children from spitting, or openly forcefully sneezing over the whole room/bus/train/shop, and not wiping dripping noses off with the backs of their hands and sleeves and off onto nearby carpet/persons/furniture.

Some of the lack of basic cleanliness out there is about on par with the medieval ages. Well not quite, I dramatise..., but its not far off it.
