About to be a first time Grandmother!

Hi there everyone

I'm about to be a Grandmother, any day now, and I'm wanting to get my son and his daughter something...Twenty-three years ago, when I was a first time mom, I purchased a crib sling that was lined with lambswool. It had a pouch that held a heart that made sounds of a mother's heart beat. I used it with all three of my newborns, and as they progressed from the crib, we used to tote the little heart that made the sounds in their carrier or carseat, and it would put them right to sleep. I can't find those any more...but does anyone have a recommendationhas for what is similar out there now~and works as wonderfully? It was very soothing ... and I loved how the babies responded to it.

The closest thing I've seen is a regular sling. It doesn't have a fake heartbeat, but if your son or his wife wear the baby in it, the baby will feel their heartbeats. My son loved being in his sling.

I think that you could find a stuffed animal which plays the heartbeat sound. They have one at the birthing center where I will be delivering my baby, and said that they were available in most baby stores. A regular sling would also be a great gift idea!

I think you should definitely get them a regular sling/pouch. The baby will love being right next to mama or daddy's *real* heart.
