Weird Cervical Fluid/Bleeding

Thread Starter
I have had some funky cycles since coming off the pill back in July. This is my current chart: http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/13ecb5

I have had a wee bit of blood in my cervical fluid -- nothing close to a period. Indeed, I would likely not even notice it if I were not checking my fluid.

I have also had some very light pain on my lower left side -- just above my hip.

No good egg white fluid yet so I am pretty sure this is not ovulation or implantation bleeding.

Any thoughts?

Hmm, wish I had more to offer but the only thing that I can relate to is the slight pain on one side above the hip. Sounds to me like possible ovulation pain as that is what I used to get right before ovulating. Almost like AF cramps, but not as severe and just on one side. HTH

As for the weird cycles after stopping the pill, that I think is pretty normal. Prior to getting pg with Ds, I stopped the pill in August (04) and it took until Dec (04) to get preg with him. The cycles got better bit by bit each month. I think it can take a while for your hormones to return to "normal".

Chart looks like you've not ovulated yet. Your slight spotting may be breakthru/out of sync hormones as a result of comming off of the pill. Good luck

Well normally, the pain you describe sounds like ovulation pain and some women spot a little bit at ovulation which could explain the small amount of blood.

However, looking at your chart - with the temps up and down all over the place all the way into cycle day 23 - it's hard to tell if you're having delayed ovulation or if you won't ovulate at all this cycle. What kind of cervical fluid *do* you have if not eggwhite? Have you been under any stress lately? Have you been taking your temp at the same time in the a.m. and after at least 3 hours of sleep and without moving around too much upon temp taking? Lots of things can delay or skip ovulation or make your temps hard to track.

Also, coming off the pill gave me funcky cycles for a good 6 months and it took a full year for me to feel I had a "regular" cycle that I could work off of. (I chart to avoid pg) You may just be at the mercy of off kilter hormones this cycle.

HTH!

i agree with the pps -- the pain you're descibing sounds a lot like O pain, but remember that it doesn't always perfectly line up with ovulation. many women feel it days before O actually occurs or even many times throughout a cycle. in longer cycles, it's not uncommon for your body to "try to O" several times before you actually do.

also, the bleeding you are describing can be many things, all of them completely normal. in longer cycles a little bit of spotting is common. it could also be a sing of ovulation.

in my last cycle, i didn't actually O until cd51, but i had three days of the type of bleeding you are describing two or three days prior to O (i didn't have any ewcm then, either). i have no idea if it was from O, or just breakthrough bleeding.

my point is, until you cycles regulate a little more, be careful of how much weight you give to any one "sign". your body is fighting hard to adjust after the pill and might do all sorts of things that can be really confusing!
