The application for the fellowship I'm applying for wants, "the names, addresses and telephone number of two people clearly competent to discuss you as a writer and as a person and to judge your qualifications for the Fellowship."

I know many people who could discuss me asa a person, a few who might discuss me as a writer. None who could do both!

THen it says, "Do not have your college or graduate school placement office send the conventional dossier. " UGH! I'm 48, so even if I had attended college, those people wouldn't be doing me any good now. THat sentence just scares me because now I feel like I'm up against a bunch of intellectuals, instead of just people. (I'm still doing it, but I could use more confidence!)

I have a month. What would YOU do??? WHo would you ask?

Well, my husband and his bestfriend/cousin are avid writers and we always show each other our writing, so I guess I'd pick them. Not that that helps you any! Hope you find someone.

I think I've found them!

Since it's a school, they want people who can speak about me as a writer and a person. I have one person who's been an online mentor to me, and has helped greatly with my novel, and a woman I've known for 20 years, who's a teacher...just have to give her some of my stuff to read!
