First Diaper

So here is my first finished diaper.... don't really know if I like the pattern- I used the fitted one off of mamabird.com I think that the wings just aren't wide enough. It's flannel against baby and on the outside like you can see, then there is also a layer inside of just a regular cotton fabric with a flannel soaker attached it that. Does that sound like it would keep moister away from baby? I know I would need to put a cover around it.
I was pretty much trying to se how hard it would be to make one, hubby has already said that he hates the plaid lol.... at least there will be a cover over it. I was just going for cheep stuff to start with. I have fleece that is supposed to be coming in the mail... eventually lol, along with some plain diaper flannel. I'm just hoping that with the fleece I can use it as the outside for pocket AIOs.

I'm getting an error message when I try to look at your pics. Cotton fabrics aren't going to wick moisture away. You need a 100% polyester to do that. But your dipe should be nice and absorbant with flannel. I would love to see your pics if you can fix your links...

I'm not so crazy about the mamabird pattern after trying some others. I think it's too bulky and very wide through the crotch.
I really love the very baby pattern for fitteds. I've heard good things about the darling diaper pattern too.
For free patterns you might try the wee weka pattern. There's a link in the resources section.
