First Appt tomorrow and I want an u/s - Update

Maybe it's cuz with my last pregnancy, they did an u/s at 6 wks just to confirm. Maybe it's because I've had so much cramping and muscle aching with this one - I just want to see that little circle on that screen. The receptionist said that the dr often doesn't do u/s till 10-11 weeks and I'm only at 9. Do you think if I just ask for one, they'll let me?

I am excited and can't wait. I love reading the other threads about hearing the heartbeats. With my dd, we heard her hb at 10 weeks.

Hey, you never know. It doesn't hurt to ask. Maybe you can just say something like, "Are we going to confirm the pg through u/s?" Or "When do you expect we'll do a first u/s?"

I'd be pretty assertive if you want the u/s. At 9 weeks you should be able to see more than just a circle - the heartbeat should be visible, and that's always great. If the doc generally does them at 10 weeks, it shouldn't be too big a stretch to convince him/her to do one at 9. Good luck!

I went, met my new ob who seems very nice, and he did an u/s!!! YAY!! I got to see my babe. So tiny, and a nice strong heartbeat - big sigh of relief from me! Thank you God!!!
I have been dancing in the clouds ever since.

Congrats!! I kind of can't wait for an ultrasound too. But I'm holding out for the 18 week u/s.
