I didn't get a lot done yesterday, but I did get some...

1 chunk of gross freezer burned something
1 bag of old pens. Few worked. (I saved those. )
1 bag of old, tangled yarn craft from when I was 9.
1 bag of assorted junk that's been in my office for two years!

Current tally: 221/500

FOUND!
1 pair of expensive tweezerman tweezers I thought I lost in 1999! Holy plucking Batman!

Realizing that I might actually find "long lost" or "missing" items really solidified my determination to clean this place up. Being a recovering packrat is no fun.

Without going into (sometimes gross) detail about every item, I have:

• tossed/recycled 31 things
• put 26 things in my Goodwill box
• . . . and the kicker, freecycled 18 garbage disposal bags. I probably shouldn't count each one, but it's my first freecycle posting, so I'm feeling a little giddy.

So my current tally is a very shabby 75/500. That said, I've organized some spaces that I thought would never get decluttered and I'm feeling pretty good about things overall. Plus, all my purging activity has inspired DH to get busy shredding documents!

I went through the medicine cabinets and my sock drawer yesterday. Tossed 13 expired/dried out/otherwise yucky things from the bathroom (expiration 5/2005?!?) and 9 mismatched socks. Freecycled a big bag of old yarn and some spools of ribbon given to me by DH's grandma. Today I'm going through the office closet.

went through my junk drawer in the kitchen while cooking dinner last night...expired kids meds, pet meds, coupons, menus, instruction booklets. Yikes! It's a start...

I haven't been keeping count but I'm down at least 100+ things in the past month. I've donated clothing, food and toys. I've tossed junk, cleaned out the bathroom of unused stuff, cleaned the coat closet out and ebayed a few things of mine that don't fit. Papers shredded and magazines and catalogs recycled. I just have to keep going!

I'm so in. I read this thread then had to walk through my laundry room.
159 pieces of clothing
6 empty containers of laundry soap
3 empty containers of bleach
3 empty containers of fabric softner
18 socks that do not match
3 empty beer bottles I found sitting on the snakes cage heh.
So far, 192/500. :
Today I'm going to hit the bathrooms and the fridge. Those should yeild some impressive numbers heh.

I did a first pass of my linen/bathroom closet this morning and threw away 57! yucky or unused things. I think that there is still alot to get rid of from my keep pile, but I want to go through my 2 bathrooms first to see what dulpicates I find.

Yay, that was an easy 30 min.. I am so excited.

I took 60 items in to donate, including 45 articles of clothing, a baby bathtub, a baby bouncer seat, some kitchen utensils, a pillow, and a lampshade.

One more item is being picked up today off of Craigslist.

-7 pointless toy parts

1 pair of shoes
1 baby outfit
tossed 15 misc exp items from a shelf in the bathroom (while drying off)

I hit the bathrooms today and got rid of 55 items of near empty but *very* old shampoo & conditioner, old lotions that I didn't like, and cosmetics that I don't like/not longer use.
New total: 247/500
Sadly, I still have 8 rooms to go

I'm in if I can carry over the 250 items I decluttered in October! Today I tossed 2 items, returned 1, and repaired another 2 (thus converting them from useless clutter to useful dress-up necklaces for dd). New total= 255

Yay, November! In October, I only made it up to 164, but November's my month - I can feel it.

I decluttered a drawer full of mementoes and junk today. Kept the mementoes (well, most of them, anyway) and tossed the junk. Over 10% of the way there.
