How/When will you tell the news?

How did you tell your dh/dp?

My dh, mom, 1 friend, and 65yo neighbor (she babysits for me) are all that know for now. My first appt is on the 7th and we will tell everyone at Thanksgiving. Our kids are going to flip out!!
I don't really talk to my father, but my step-mom will be so excited too! And my friends... everyone knows that we have been trying for quite a few months so it will be pretty exciting!

I gotta run to ds1's Halloween party, so I'll tell ya how I told dh when I get back.

I've never been very creative when I tell Dh. I pretty much just tell him. Like this time around, I did the prenancy test first thing when I woke up, saw it was postivie, then nudged him awake and told him. Not very exciting.

We're told almost all our friends and my husband's parents. I'm not in a rush to tell my mom. She'll be very excited, yes. But, there are issues. I haven't told my dad yet, again more issues. And I just haven't gotten around to telling my brother but we talk frequently so it'll happen.

Hmmm... Maybe I should just call my mom now.

I seem to blab instantly. I've already told my closest friends (I haven't told any casual friends in town here), my family, and my neighbors. I will need to talk to some casual friends in town soon--I need the scoop on local midwives and OBs.

I told my husband right away. It was sorta like "AF isn't here yet! Go get me a test" followed by "Is that TWO lines???"

I am very excited to tell our other children (6, 4 and 2) and we have a great plan. : We're going to buy some booties or a baby rattle and wrap it up at Christmas. We'll let them discover the extra present under the tree, wonder who it could be for with them, let them open it and watch the lights come on.

Dh always comes in with me and watches the test so I never really have to "tell" him, though I do have to tell him that I think maybe I should take a test. I called my mom last Saturday a few hours after I took the test. I would have called her sooner, but we wanted to go to the morning Farmer's Market because it was the last one.

We're going to announce it in church this Sunday though (at least) three folks in church already know because one lady guessed and there was another lady next to her so they both know and then dh told another father about it since dh overheard me telling the two ladies. One of the ladies (the one who guessed) and the man dh told will probably tell the whole church for us, but that's okay

I asked my mom to wait to tell my siblings (they're still living at home and are much younger than I am) until we hear the heartbeat. Oh, and my dad overheard my mom on the phone with me and he guessed too, which is fine with me. My parents share everything so she would have told him anyhow.

I've had to tell a couple of people due to ms in public - and then one of them went on to tell a bunch of my other friends. So...I felt compelled then to tell my parents and in-laws. And now, I think just about everyone already knows. As for my kids (3 and 2), I suspect they'll figure it out soon enough. Since this is #3, I'm guessing that I'll start showing pretty soon, and since I hold them a lot, I'm positive they'll be asking questions.

I can't keep a secret at all!

DH knew I was taking the test. The first one we took was INCREDIBLY faint, so we were both in a shock/denial/don't wanna get too excited phase. Next day a little less faint, so that evening we were getting together with my family to carve pumpkins so we told them then. I had our video camera running while the kids carved pumpkins, told them all we had something exciting to tell them and then said "we're going to get Alena's hair cut for the first time!" followed by some grunts and moans, then I quickly said "and she's going to be a big sister!!!" They didn't believe me at first. My younger sister is almost a month farther along than me, so it's a very exciting time for the family.

We told dh's family over the phone, since we aren't sure when we'll see them next and couldn't wait. And I've told most friends either in person or on the phone.

Oh, and we've been telling our 14 month old dd, but she just points to my belly button and says "button". Like she's trying to tell us, "no, it's not a baby, it's a belly button"

DH was the one that wanted me to take a test, I thought it was waaay to early, but I took it anyway, and it came back with the faintest little line! I tested again a couple days ago and it was like, "bam!" darker then anything! So far just me him and my best friend know about it. We are going to visit the inlaws, and my family on thanksgiving, so this is probably when they will all find out. Its sooo hard to keep secrets!

We just went on a very delayd honeymoon (been married 4 years) We went on a cruise and the whole time my DH kept telling me your pregnant. I know it your pregnant. Then every night he would kiss my tummy and say night baby. So I told him I will prove you wrong as soon as we get home I will test. So Sunday moring I tested and it was a negitive sign with a break in it. So I told him see its negitive and we got in the shower. So when he got out he looked again and showed it to me. "Tell me you dont see that plus sign." So we went and bought a digital. I took it that night it was pregnant. So now all I hear is Who was right!
So we call ed my sister and his sister right away and told them. Then told our parents. They all expected us to tell them next month that we got pregnznt on the cruise. We like to do everything early! So now the e-mails have gone out and just about everyone knows. Our parents have big mouths!

When I found out I just called my dh up right away and said GUESS WHAT??? I then called my midwife and then my sisters. I still havent told my mom and dad and I am trying to figure out some cute way to tell them. We will probably wait until thanksgiving to tell dh' family. Any good ideas on a way to tell my parents?

Have only told Dh, sister and one close freind. Will probably call some close realatives next week and maybe just let my parents and the in-law notice on thier own (insert devil). Also trying to teach my 2 1/2 year old boy to point to my belly and say baby. We think they might get the hint.

I'm never able to keep it a secret. I told my DH the day before I tested that my period was late. I really should have waited until the kids weren't in the room because they wanted to know what that meant . So the next day I took girls with me to buy a test. They were both so excited to see if the test was positive (my period's never late so I was pretty sure at this point). The two lines came up right away. I showed it to DH first and he was like, "What does that mean?" And I said, "Uh, two lines means positive." How many times have we gone through this before : ?

I called two of my sisters, my mom, and two of my brothers. By the time I called my last brother he told me he'd already heard from two people that I was pregnant. Word travels fast in my family . It's fun though, because my sister is pregnant and due in May with her first and my brother's wife is expecting their 2nd the middle of June.

I also told my two best friends that I mountain bike with. I need to have an excuse for when I don't make it up the big hills .
