I just now got old green, blue and orange crayon off my walls with the Magic Eraser! I also recomend the Magic Eraser but only for big things. Ds2 took a sharpie to a brand spanking new flat screen computer moniter over a year ago. He covered almost every bit of the screen. I knew Dh would have a stoke if he saw it and after trying many things, and being told I couldn't ruin it anymore try the Magic Eraser, I did. It worked so beautifully that Dh had no idea what happend until Ds1 spilled the beans. I am using that moniter now and you could never tell one time it was COVERED in sharpie.

Hmm. That wasn't our experience at all.

The magic erasers can take the finish off of glossy/satin surfaces. I used hairspray with ink (the only use I have for hairspray) and it worked really well. On a leather couch to boot!

acetone nail polish remover removes permnant ink, if the other options don't work.

white colored tooth paste will remove crayons off walls with out the toxic ingredients of the magic eraser stuff.

I'd spot test the acetone first. That stuff melts some plastics. Depending on what kind the potty is made of, it may make it look worse.

If the perm. marker stain is on a surface that is safe for dry erase markers (e.g., you can wipe off dry erase markers without a problem), you can write OVER the sharpie with a dry erase marker and it will almost always come off with the dry eraser marks. I know this because people were CONSTANTLY using sharpies on the dry-erase boards in our conference rooms. :

We're lucky that our apartment manager (currently our townhouse landlord since we all got along so well!) knew that painting with semi-gloss works best for rental properties. When the builders of this townhouse put flat paint everywhere but the bathroom, she and her husband re-painted, b/c she knew that Eamon was going to be living, and drawing, there!
