want resources for making bendy dolls for dd's birthday

Hi ladies

I need resources for making some bendy dolls, you know, the small ones. I have felt, I can make outfits, but I need some tips, websites, etc. I know certain mama shops sell them, but I would love to make my own, either by buying the base, then making clothes, or from scratch.
TIA!

Check out www.playfulpixie.com This is a wonderful Canadian WAHP (but they ship to U.S. no problem.) Jennifer is so helpful and they carry the best quality. Wool felt, even the predrilled feet!

Have you found the book _Wee Felt Folk_? It's got beautiful examples, and clear instructions.

The only thing I would change from her book is that instead of using embroidery floss to wrap the body, use ribbon-type yarn (a very soft ribbon - Joannes and Michaels have it). This speeds things up tremendously - the embroidery floss is kinda fiddly.

I did just buy the book! So will it show me how to actually make them then?very cool.I didn't want to shell out 4-5$ a bendy doll. I know other mamas here make them. thanks so much!
I also have a ton of leftover felt, and other fun fabrics to make clothing.

Careful - they can become addictive! :
I have a pattern for them, as well - similar to the Wee Folk, but not quite. There's instructions for embroidery-floss hair, and clothes sewn from regular fabric if you want to get more ambitious!

That's a great idea, using the ribbon-yarns for wrapping. And include the kids when making them - in most cases, they won't care if their dolls turn out wonky, so long as they made the doll themselves! My youngest daughter took her dollmaking box to school one day, and had half the class making their own dolls by the end of the day

YAH, mehndi mama! I was totally thinking about the dolls you sell But they always sell out so darn fast

Well I hope the book will help. As far as ambitious, well, uh, I am pretty out there, lost in the crafting world
