goin back to work tonight i'm gonna miss my guy sooooooo much while i'm there!!! at least my mom will be watching him, plus i only have to go back at 30hrs a week for the first month ... will be on night shift too, so hopefully i still get plenty of sleep/snuggle time with my felix! :

Hoping your first night at work went well. I was away all day on Thurs and Fri for school and it was hard to be gone. When I got home, I never put her down until I fell asleep. I just kept breathing in her smell and snuggling with her little neck.
Nice to have the nap/nurse time during the day when you are catching your zzzz. I loved that with the other dcs. We would lay in bed and snooze all day.

I start back tonight. Pretty unhappy/resentful about it, but whatever. I have no choice. We can't make ends meet if I don't, and my job is our only source of health insurance.

Baby will go to Grandma's (my MIL) and DH will pick her up - she'll be there about 4 hours two days a week and DH will have her the rest of the time. I'm going back full time and I always work nights. The schedule has worked for us without the baby, we'll have to make it work with baby.

What are your night hours? I'm 5 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.

Are you pumping? I got the Ameda Purely Yours and have been pumping about once a day for about 3 weeks. Have a little freezer stash.

Any idea what your routine with baby will be like during the day? Do you get any sleep?

well, i work 11pm-7am ...
i've had 3hrs sleep in the last 2days
my sweetpea had been sleeping except for eating off and on but mostly on from about 11pm-1or 2pm, that is, until i started work. now he's sleeping mostly when i'm at work then little catnaps when i'm home with him but not long enough for me to get a real nap or even really to get anything done around the house. and actually two nights ago he didnt sleep for my mom either, was fussy for over a day. i'm wondering if its cuz he's realizing there's been a shift or if its something about his development or what. i'm so tired i can barely complete sentences... i did actually stay at my mom's when i got off work yhis am and got another 3 1/2hrs sleep ... i fed him when i got there then crashed out in a spare room. he had slept almost the whole time i was at work, then slept a little more after i fed him then mom preoccupied him while i got more sleep. got him home now and fed him but now he's all "talkative" and awake ... my sil just came over to get him so i could sleep a couple more hours (and here i am typing : ) it sucks cuz even though i desperately need the sleep, i dont want to be without my ds either, i love him sooooo much!:

off to bed i go ....


ps a cooworker is possibly offering to trade shifts with me so i would work 3pm-11pm ... that would be wonderful!
