Need help finding a gift for ds's b-day and Christmas

So December is fast approaching, and Tharen will turn 1 on the first and then there is Christmas. I am having an awful time coming up with good gifts for him. We already have soooo many toys from Kearnan, we have ride ons and pull toys and walk behind toys and big toys galore. I want to get him somethign special. I am not crazy about noisy plastic toys, I really prefer wool toys and wooden toys (though I am not totally apposed to some of the better plastic toys without all the sounds and lights ect). Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions for him?

A couple of things I was thinking of and wondering if anyone knew where to find were:
Felted Wool Panda bear (we call Tharen our little panda) good sized, and really cute
Felted wool or wooden sushi set
Felted wool veggies or foods

I made soft throwing balls/missiles for ds2 on his first birthday. He loves throwing things. Here's what I did -- I wrapped up a plastic handle bag in a piece of fleece, stitched it closed (sloppily), and then placed it in the center of a largeish square of fun (froggy) fabric. I pulled the sides up & tied/knotted it closed with a matching ribbon, tightly (and stitched it to keep it closed). I think I made almost 2 dozen. He had fun opening a big box & everyone tossed them around at each other...

Cars are always fun, too. Maybe a selection of 3 or so so his siblings can play with him?

Have fun!

Those throwing balls sound great! Ds2 will be 16 months at Christmastime and he loves balls. Question, though-why the fleece and the tied fabric? Could I just use fleece and tie/stitch it together?

OP-I have seen a wooden sushi set, but can't think of where. I will look into it.

I used the fleece to soften any potentially pokey corners the plastic bags made, and the woven cloth for the cuteness factor (this was a stash using project & I didn't have any cute fleece! ).

It sounds like your idea would work great!
