Playsilk question

I would really like to make some play-silks for my daughter. I know in the past people have posted about buying cheap silks and dying them. I remember looking at the website before but had no idea which specific piece I was supposed to buy. I am NOT crafty at all, but am trying to make more natural toys for my DD, age 2. I think she'd love playsilks...any help would be great.

TIA

You can buy silk blanks from Dharma Trading Company or Thai silks. If you are not planning on doing many your easiest bet would be to use kool aid as an acid dye. For a wider range of colors you can use Procion fiber reactive dyes available at Dharma too.

Do a forum search and you will come up with a good amount of info on dyeing, silks, kool aid etc

Do you have a direct link to one of the blanks? I'm so confused when I go there, because I really don't know what the play silks you buy are...like the ones from nova natural. Any pointers would be great. I just hate to get the wrong thing.

These scarves are the weave and weight most often used for playsilks. The most common size for playsilks is 35x35, but all the different sizes are useful IME.
