Life with a babe week of 10/30

How's everyone doing?

I've been sick as a dog - some sore throat bug that's going around. Nasty though.

But we managed to nurse thru it - even when I was running a fever of 103.5! So far DD hasn't caught it yet, but she is a bit stuff nosed and congested so I'm not sure she's escaped it yet. Hopefully she won't catch it.

Still dealing with allergies - we think we've discovered another, but not sure if it's pecans, walnuts, or coconut since the item that caused it had all three! This time it only made her face have exema and very itchy to her. Anyone know if it's possible to have an infant allergy tested? I plan on asking her pedi at her 2 month vist on the 13th.

And I've officially decided to not vax Trinity. After reading several books, and vaers reports for my area, I and my parents came to the decision to totally not vax Trinity for the moment. Maybe if they improve vax's, then we might. But not right now since it appears San Antonio has some hot lots out there right now. Haven't told her new pedi yet, but I've been told she is no vax friendly {Dr. McMains}.

And in other news - Trinity is TEETHING! Yes, teething - she is chewing on anything she can get her mouth on, including the snugli straps and my fingers. You can just barely see the teeth under the skin on the bottom too.

Hope this week is good for everyone else!

huh...good luck with that teething!!

ayla is 14 lbs at 8 weeks!! shes getting heavy!!

things here are less than perfect. dh is working so much that i don't have any help at all in the past week. ds is in need of attention that i have no time to give. i am about to give up (can i do that?). ayla does not like to go to bed at night. what happened to babies are supposed to sleep 12 hours at night??? is she sleeping to much during the day maybe? it seems like maybe she is not having enough awake time. i just don't know how to change that. on a good note though when i did FINALLY get her to bed at 11:6 30 last night she slept until 6 before needing to eat!! : was really nice but i slept like a rock and didn't feel like it was that long. oh well.

i am just trying to get through this without pulling my hair out and screaming at my son to much which i seem to be doing alot of..: i just want to enjoy my kids but i don't know how....:

always want to post on these, but every time i start typing felix decides to wake up !
went for a well baby check today, (6 1/2kwks now) he's grown a whole 3in since birth and is now 11lbs 1oz (8lbs 10oz at birth) so, he's 90percentile in height and head size and 75percentile in weight - way to go mamamilk dr didn't even bring up vax, we had talked about delayed vax before felix was even born, i just don't feel i know enough yet to make and educated decision ... it's great the dr. is understanding!
felix has been giving away beautiful smiles since about 4wks, lifted up his head from day one but keeps it very steady now and can even push up his body with his lil legs, i call him my tough guy (or snorkel puss, cuz he's a little phlegmy) : also "talks" up a storm. so the dr says he's doin stuff that normally doesnt happen til 2mos way to go felix!!! but geez they grow so fast : i really need to get a good book on timeframes of developmental norms for babes, dont have one yet ... gonna order a dr sears book i think .. man, i'm a slacker!
anyway, went back to work on night shift sun night, then had my two days off, now have to go back again tonight, kinda missed work a little but not near as much as i miss felix when i'm there
of course he's stirring now, so i gotta get some more snuggle time before i leave him with mom for the whole 6hrs i have to be away from him

What a week!!

Well bubys a month old today!!!!!!!!!!! Her reflux is getting worse, she throws up so much, but eats enough that shes thankfully putting on weight still (Haha a lot of weight infact ) so although I didn't think it was dairy I've now heard it takes about 2wks to get out of your system so I'm off it again Hoping it'll help.

Bubys advancing well, maybe September DDC has superbabies?? Bubys also (According to the Midwife - And the things I've read) very advanced, could hold up her own head from day 1, her first real smile (By real I mean not a wind smile) was when she was about 2wks ago - Everyone tells me I'm crazy and that it's impossible, BUT you can so tell the difference, when she wind smiles only the corners of her mouth curl up, whereas when she smile smiles her whole face lights up, it's the most beautiful thing! She followed (her eyes) from about two weeks ago, she can see quite a distance, I'm not sure how well she focuses though.

Things with Bubys father have taken a bad turn, after not hearing from him for ages, last night he was sending me messages saying things like he hoped me and my family would die, calling Buby a little piece of shit, calling me worthless and disgusting, used the "white trash piece of shit" line again. Then messages me 20 mins later saying that he'll take half custody (Like I was offering him food or something) because she would have a hard enough time with a failure for a Mum without having no Dad too, then proceeded to say how he was going to restrict her from seeing half my friends and many other ridiculous things. Keep in mind too through all of these messages I hadn't said one thing back. So needless to say I don't want him anywhere near her.

Other than that... Things are fantastic!! What a week.............

are you in the U.S.? i would save those messages at all costs. if he decides to spite you and try to take partial or full custody (whether he loves your child or not) he has a leg to stand on just because he was a sperm donor. although ds is not my dh's son he is named after dh and only JUST now is my sons "father" getting a dna test done. although its by mail and not allowable in court. so far *I* have the upper hand w/dh as his named father, no dna test allowable in court to prove his gentic father AND the fact that he hasn't even told his family about ds!!

I have done ALL of this on purpose even though ds's DNA dad (nice name huh!! ) is no way doing anything mean to us (no name calling, hatefullness etc...in fact he sends money every month to help out and calls to see how hes doing). but I am his mother and hell if anyone else that hasn't been with him since day one is going to take him without a HUGE fight from me.

IF your ex comes around bothering you, threatens you etc make sure to get eye witness testimoney. a simple statement written down and signed is good. it only betters your position to show the courts (if/when) he tries anything.

Sorry for the unsolicited advice but i hate it when "fathers" that aren't anything more than sperm donors think they know best!

This week has been one large experience for us, and so far it's gone great! We are traveling for the week, dh had a conference, and baby and I decided to come along.

She did super in the car (6 hrs) and didn't sleep more than normal (I was afraid she'd sleep the whole day and then be up all night) and went to bed like a little angel. We are "weening" her from our bed... on this trip her little safe/secure sleeper thing has been in the other bed (instead of in ours) and it hasn't bothered her a bit. When we get home we hope to move her into the crib in our room. There are moments when I love having her next to me and others when I cant sleep cause she's such a loud snoozer!

We are dealing with skin sensitivities now : after getting the dairy elimination under control. I had been using some eco groovy detergent that in fact contained lots of additives... natural or not her skin does not like them. what we thought started as newborn acne has continued into what the ped called contact dermitis (aka: a rash!) from her clothes. hopefully the detergent will solve the problem.

We hit 10 weeks on tuesday and she's a little less than 10.5lbs and 22 inches... woohoo! And she's turned into quite the talker, and rolled from her back to her tummy with only a tiny bit of help yesterday! Yayyy!

Lily is so big I can't believe it. She is 6 1/2 weeks old and I weighed her last night...13 lbs ! She is probably up to 23 inches now too. She is almost totally unable to wear the 0-3 months clothes. She can even fit into some outfits that are for 6 months! I just can't believe it. Her Ped. says she looks like a 3 month old. She was 9lb4oz at birth...but man, I still can't believe how big she is! She is sleeping wonderfully. We go to bed around 10. Sometimes she wakes up to eat around 4am. Sometimes not until 6 (this has been the routine since birth . We have been so very blessed to have very easy babes. Lily is just a delightful little person. Very agreeable. Never fussy. And she thinks her Papa is absolutley hysterical. Especially at bedtime for some reason. She smiles and makes little cooing noises that sound very much like giggles. She is a bit less independant than her big Sis. She doesn't like to be alone at all when she' s awake. She will hang out more now in her Papasan chair, but only if someone is around to talk to her (to be expected from such a wee person ). So while I still feel like my life is all "juggling while running" with 2 little ones, we are getting into a better rhythm now. Piper turns 2 on Saturday : so we are having a rockin party, pinata and all! I am feeling like I am totally losing some super-mom points though. I have hired some angel women to clean my house to get ready for the party, there is no way I could clean this old farmhouse in time. I feel like it's a monumental feat just to manage to mop the kitchen floor. This week I have spent all of my "free" time sucking up lady bugs and red wasps with the vacuumn. For some reason every time I have a baby our house is innundated with lady bugs, and some wasps always come along for the ride. It was so bad when Piper was born that we had to sleep under a mosquito net (that was after the vacuumn was used!)
So the battle wages on...
Anyway, I am really looking forward to watching Piper have an awesome time on her birthday. And we havesome peole coming who haven't met Lily yet, so it's a double treat .

Ahh I can post today! Usually whenever I come on to post Lainey wakes up But, today I finally mastered the sling! We've been using the babyhawk, but it's not comfortable to sit while she's in it. So, now I can type with two hands!! This post is taking me 1/4 the time it usually does LOL.

Lainey is another Super September Baby! She's been holding her head up practically since she was born. She has excellent core strength! She's been smiling a ton and I love it! Her most smiliey time is in the morning and it's so sweet to wake up next to her just smiling so big at me (even if it's 6am!)

We're having a welcome party for her on Saturday (which is also my birthday!). I'm so excited! A few of my friends haven't seen Lainey because we've been keeping to ourselves a bit. It's fun to have Lainey meet someone new a few times a week! It's like she's *brand new* again

Hey RainbowsMum! Don't take that from him! Turn off your phone, and don't listen to ANYTHING he says! Sounds like a real piece of work. Are you doing OK? Do you have enough friend and family support?

We're doing well. Just as BFing got a world easier, I have to return to work. Blah.

No need to apologise dhinderliter, any advice is good And I agree, if anyone tried to take my baby away from me, they would get a HUGE fight. I kept all the messages too, figured it would be a good plan.

We're OK, currently staying with my mother, it's funny, I always swore I never would cos me and my step-dad DO NOT get along, and the great thing is now, hes the thing keeping anyone from coming here and bothering me cos they're all too scared!!!

Thought I'd just pop on and update.

Then inlaws were here from Seattle for 8 days and it was so nice to get things done. I tend to hold the little one so much that household things got backed up. With them here she still got to be held all the time but I was able to be a busy madwoman and do what I wanted to! Yay! I have no idea what she weighs since she hasn't seen a Dr at all yet. I've been on the vac fence leaning more toward not doing it so wanted to avoid any confrontation. I should take her in just to be established as a patient though. She totally changed from a newborn to an infant though in the last week or so. The smiles are more regular and easier to get, her face is really filling out, I see folds in her skin where there aren't joints (I love looking at that chub starting). I am so happy to that she loves the sling unlike my previous two kidlets. It makes it so easy when it is just me here with the 3 of them for days at a time to take them out.
