ING bank accounts?

Does anyone here have a savings account with ING?

Am I a dork to be uncomfortable with not being able to go to a branch nearby?

The interest rate looks sooo good.

I have one

BTW, I am pretty much new to MDC forums...Just happened on by here, hope that is ok

ING accounts link to your regular bank account and you can transfer money back and forth that way. I really like how easy it is and the interest rate is great!

We have one and have been very happy with it. It's easy to use and links right to your bank account like the PP said. We have our checking account with a local credit union, but I don't think I have ever been to a branch because I do everything online anyway.

I have a savings account with ING, and at one time had my car insurance with them too. Never had any problems with either service. Their interest rates are fantastic and beats out any of the Gov't savings bonds we have here in Canada!

The only downer (but you get used to it) is that when you're transfering money to and from your "regular" brick and mortar bank, it takes up to 3 business days to get the funds.

I do all my transactions with ING on-line, and get a statement mailed to me every so often.

I use ING and I love it. Never had any problems. If anything, I consider the difficulty in getting my hands on the money instantly a plus -- it helps me resist temptation.

I had one with ING, but I recently switched it to one with ELoans (it's still FDIC insured). The ELoans one had a better interest rate. I always go to this website, he keeps me updated on who has the best interest rates currently:

If you really want a place you can go to in person, Washington Mutual has a deal going now where you open a free checking and a free savings account at the same time, and the savings account gets over 5% interest.
