Names?

Is anyone already thinking about names? I love thinking about names, I put a lot (too much?!) effort into it. My DH is not so much into talking about names (especially this early), so I thought it would be fun to hear what names you all like for this baby so far or have left over from previous pregnancies. What kind of names do you like, and do you have any patterns that you like to follow (like family names for middle names, certain letters, combination names, etc...).

We already know what names we will use. The boy name is left over from our last pg... Wyatt David. Dh's best friend died and his name was Dave. My best friend died right after I had ds2. She wanted me to name him Wyatt, but I told her to name her own damn kid that b/c I don't really like the name. I have regretted it since then. So if we have a boy that will be his name.
Our girl name is causing quite a bit of contraversy in the family ever since we had our last baby. I have finally decided that I do not care what other people say, I will name her what I want and tuff sh*t what anyone else (MIL) says. She had her turn to name her kids, now is my turn!

We do a pattern that is kind of comical since we didn't notice it until we were pregnant last time. The first name has to have a repeating letter in it.
Connor. Isaac. Mallory. Wyatt.
And our girl name Xxavier.
I absolutely love that name, but I think that it is too pretty sounding for a boy lol! If we are having a girl, her middle name will probably be Jacim (I think?). It is the acronym for our family's names:
Justin Ashley Connor Isaac Mallory.

I love to talk names!

It's kind of funny 'cause by now Dh and I wold be engaged in an ongoing heated debate about a name. We tend to have very different tastes in names. But once we find that one name we both can agree on it sticks and seems to totally fit our babe.

I really love the name Avery for a boy. But we were in the car the other day and my dh(Donny) was saying how when his mom found out we were expecting she said, "OH how sweet. I think it will be a boy, another little Donny." When I heard that, I got so excited to name him Donald Jr. and call him little donny. My dh looked so happy.

For girls he loves the name Kate (my little sister's name), but I love the names: Luna, Nova, Nora, .

As of right now, its either Grace or Isaac. Depending on the sex of the baby. I would love to have a little "Gracie" And we plan on shortening Isaac to just, Zac. I love our picks. For Isaac, the middle name will be Matthew, its my hubbys name. And for Grace it would be Marie, because thats my middle name. I would use my first name as her middle name, but I think Grace Amanda sounds silly.
IAmPink your names are cute! I like how they have that hidden link between them.

We haven't talked much about it. But, if we have a boy, it's middle name will be Allen - it was my maiden name.

For a girl, I have always loved the name April. I LOVE the spring time, and it's the month we got married. But, dh isn't sold yet on the name. I like Harmony for a middle name, but he isn't sold on that yet either.

Our dd's name is Alena Melody. Alena is the feminine form of Allen, and I found it similar to Eleanor (dh's grandmother who passed away just after we got engaged 6 years ago). And Melody is because we're both music lovers and met in a drum corps.

We have never been able to pick a first name for a boy. Nothing is jumping out at us.

I love picking the name.:

If it's a boy he'll be Samuel Wisdom, unless something just screams to us that that's the wrong name.

If it's a girl either her first or middle name will be Elanor and I am just not sure on the other name. I'm going to have to do some searching.

I like lots of the names you all have mentioned! My DH has selective hearing when it comes to baby names. He doesn't like talking about it, and I love it--so, he just sort-of ignores me until later in the pregnancy. "Ignores" in the most loving sense of the word!

If Nora had been a boy, she would have been Luke or Henry Joseph. (We didn't know her sex until the birth)

We didn't have a girl's name picked out for Henry, as DH sees the benefit in finding out the sex as not having to dicsusss one set of names. But for Henry, we also liked Levi and Owen.

This time, I have no idea! I suspect our boy finalist will end up being Owen Lewis, but I am also liking Nathan, Lucas, Cyrus, Asher, Charles (Charlie), Finlay, Foster, Avery, and Roger. Yes, some are strange/old, and I probably couldn't talk myself (or Matt!) into some of them, but I'm liking them all right now.

I have a harder time with girls. Ones that I like well enough to consider right now (or at least find interesting even if I don't think I'd use them) are: Avery, Jane, Margaret (nn Maggie or Maisie), Alice, Molly, Amity, Greer, Hazel, Willa, Meredith, Vivian, Natalie, Edith, Leslie. But none of them are sounding like "the name". Hmmm...

I love talking names--and DH hates it--so yay!

For a boy we are thinking George Peter after our fathers. I really think it's going to be the only boys name we agree on. Last time Henry was the only name we could agree on--it made naming DS easy .

Right now I am liking Alice Kathryn for a girl. Kathryn is definitely going to be in there--it was my grandmother's name. I also like Lucinda and Elizabeth .

if we have a girl, she will be Athena Margaret Lauren.

if we have a boy, it's more up in the air. we like Leif (pronounced like Leaf), Noam, and Sage (but sage is being used for more girls lately, so i don't know). mn's maybe Alexander Kenneth. not sure!

My maiden name was Allen also :

I already chose the girl's name and dh approves (Viola Kathleen - Viola like the instrument pronounced veeola and dh's mom's name was Kathleen). He wants to wait till the baby's born to name a boy and then I have to approve it

love and peace.

Shelley, I love Noam.

If we have a boy he will probably be Silas Robert, both family names. For a girl we are pretty stumped. I would like to include Nancy for my mom who passed a few years ago, maybe Zafia or Tekla, my Polish grandmas, but they don't flow well together and I can't imagine any of them being a first name.

My other 3 have names that are 5 letters, we sing the bingo song with their names, and they're androgynous - Riley, Mason and Taite. Their middle names are gender specific. I would like to keep following the pattern with this one but who knows

I'm so bad with names because they always seem to change SO many times throughout my pregnancy and then I usually end up with something that was at the bottom of our "list" when they're born! As of now though, I'm really liking Evan or Isaac for a boy. Aeris or Maleigha for a girl!

Oh goodie!!! Names, we haven't got that far yet, but dh, since his Wagner obsession has been keen on Brunnhilde () I dont' mind in principle but you can already hear the talk on the playground. I really like Isis for a girl and I think I would like a name from Dylan lyrics, not that our first, Oscar, fits that pattern, but if he had been a girl I liked Johanna a lot. I find it so hard, some of you have great names, I love Silas and Owen actually. Iampink, do you really like the names that you have chosen in memory? Not that I don't but my very good friend died 2 years ago next week and I would love to name the baby after him but I dont' really like the name, have thought about middle name but that dulls the effect a bit.

You know, it's funny because I gave Mallory my best friend's first name as her middle.. Mallory Sara. Since the day she was born, 19 months ago, not a single day has gone by where she hasn't given me a look and it is a splitting image of my best friend!! I don't know how it's possible, but my mom and sister and other friends have all seen it too. It cracks me up, cause usually it's when she's doing something she shouldn't and I yell and she turns around and looks just like Sara!!!
My FIL likes the name Mallory, but since she has been born, he has never called her that! He has always called her Sara (she answers to it from anyone) because he says that she looks like a Sara- and it makes me smile. I joked with him that he wouldn't know her real name. Well, he was one of the survivors that was in the mine in Sago, WV (back on Jan 2nd). When all of the media had him doing interviews, he actually told PEOPLE magazine that his granddaughter's name was Sara and my dh had to correct him!

But, you know, I wouldn't change my decision for the world!

Wow- a lot of husband who don't like talking names. As we're going to bed at night, driving somewhere, or even just have a lull in the conversation DH will pop out with a name- sometime seriously sometimes joking. I have to be careful though, because sometimes I've thought he's joking, and totally downed a name he actually liked. Right now he and I like Eleanor for a girl maybe. No idea for a boy. Last pregnancy I liked Ava for a girl- it's my grandmothers name. But it's becoming so popular now... Then again, we chose James last time, and it's a pretty common name. Ds is James Bradley after our grandfathers. I like family names, but not sure if there are any others we'll want to use As with Ds, hopefully we'll have a few names picked, and then see when the baby's born.

I love the name Elinor for a girl.

For boys, it's more open. Dh like Finnegan, Finn for short, but I'm not sold on it. I also like Owen and Wyatt.

I like the name Corey. Means "The Chosen One" or "Raven" can be used for either boy/girl Corey, Cory, Corry, Q'orry, Kori, Korey, Korry, Kory

my dh is bradley james! how funny. everyone hounded me to name ds after dh's dad, carter, but I knew we needed to leave that for my BIL... he and dh are twins, bradley james and wesley carter, each with one of their dad's names as their middle name. so I knew carter needed to be left for them to use, and sure enough, they had graham carter this summer. I kapt ds's name a secret until he was born b/c I knew it would be too far out for my family-- galen willow. for a long time my dad would call him "little will" or "little willeo" which was a little frustrating, but after almost 4 years they've adjusted

I have been wanting to look at names, but I loaned my good name book to my SIL and if I ask for it back I'll give myself away we were leaning towards helena grace for a girl one of the previous pregnancies; we also liked erin/erynn and ashlynn/aislyn for girls. we both have celtic heritage and I'm admittedly tweaky about wanting the names to not be common, but not so far out that they resent it later I like kieran, too, for either. it's going to be hard to pick another boy name, it feels like. maybe that means it's a girl? I did some internet searching but that's almost impossible for me. eventually I'm going to have to get that book back

I like this name for a girl. It is different, but that's what makes it charming.
