Names? - Page 2

dh and i agreed really quickly on names this time....last time it was a bit of a battler. he wanted jimminy jax as a boys name and I agreed hoping we would have a girl, but when we found out it was a boy, the battles began. we ended up with jensen michael which i love.

this time we won't be finding out the sex but have picked a boy's name and a girl's name that we are both very happy with...
boy - calib, kalib, kaleb, caleb (i don't know how we will spell it) william
girl - azaela marie

: I love you!!!! :

When we were talking about it last summer everyone was telling me how disgusting it was for a girl yada yada (MIL).

Screw off is my reply! :
Sorry, a little hormonal!

Seriously, I love you!

I know it's not exactly the same, but my little girls name is Elena Grace! We call her Ellie most of the time though.

We've already decided on names, we love picking out names!!

Gemma Paige for a girl

Cameron Jaymz for a boy

We'd love another girl, but are totally cool if we are blessed with a boy.

We started talking names as soon as we found out we were pg lol. Right now for a girl, I like Veronika, Vivian, Lucinda, Ivy, and Violette. Probably my g'mas name for a middle: Cecelia. Boys are harder. Fritz, Felix and Dexter are some we've talked about.

We are going to try to keep it a secret this time, because last time we got so much cr*p for our dd's name: Genevieve Celeste. So many ILs said oh, that's too long, we'll just call her Jenni. Uh, no you won't. We said call her Gigi and that is what she usually goes by. My dad has yet to ever say Genevieve. I think he is not sure how to say it He actually said "can't you just pick a normal name like Susie?" Sorry dad.

I can honestly say that I have been obsessing over names ever since I picked the name for my first kid, hoping there would be more in the future, but haven't come up with anything I love yet.

Part of the problem is that I feel I picked my favorite boy name already, everything else out there just doesn't measure up

For a girl I am at a total loss, I really don't like most girl names, except mine :

My DH really wants Wes as a nickname for a boy, but I really don't like the name Wesley, got any other "Wes" suggestions?

I have friends that named their daughter Genevieve, and they call her Eve or Evie. There are lots of nickname possibilties for Genevieve. For what it's worh, I think it is a great name.

Names are really hard for us - and DH and I do not tell anybody else in our family what we are thinking because we don't want to hear everyone's opinions (bad or good) and I think we are a little superstitious too. Plus, we like unique names - but not too unique - and I feel like everytime I start talking about a name I like, every single baby born all of a sudden has that name - as an example - A few years ago, we liked Aiden for a boy and Grace or Lily for a girl - and you know how popular those names are now- not that there is anything wrong with those names - but I don't want my kid to be one of 5 kids in their class with the same name - ykwim? So the second a name starts to be "popular" - it is out in my book...

We will try to do a family name again - our dd is Rosemary Florence (2 Great Grandmothers named Florence, one Great Grandmother Rose) - we also like to stick with kind of old-fashioned sounding names...

And the name has to be in a few songs - we are a very musical family (dh's job revolves around music) so we have a whole cd of songs with Rosie or Rose or Rosemary - so our next kid has to have the same opportunity...

And, I like there to be nicknames or options with names - rosemary could be rosie (her nickname now) romy, rory, rose, mary - you get the idea - I would like my kid to be able to adjust her name to fit her personality.

Oh - and I wouldn't mind another "natural" name - since Rosemary is a herb and plant, I would love to keep that theme kind of too - but not as important as the other criteria...

Pretty complicated huh? Any suggestions would be welcomed!!!!
