I think I would have the same problem. How did your run go this morning?

missbliss, thanks for asking about my run. It was good. At times I thought I was insane for trying to do 11 when my last long run was 8 two weeks ago, and not much going on before or since... but I did it. And I actually feel OK now, so maybe I didn't overdo it. EK's teacher runs a little faster than me, and I may have held her back somewhat, but hopefully she didn't mind too much. All in all it was good to get out there, and maybe, just maybe, I can keep it up.

Randy's 10 miler Race Report

I was excited to race again. It has nearly 2 whole months since a race. But then I was dead dog sick last/this week. The only other time I have raced this distance was in January and then I got injured afterwards. I ran that one in 1:24:12. It was only the second time I had run the distance in my life. Obviously I have run the distance many times now, weigh about 20 lbs less but even still the thought of being faster than that seemed impossible. I knew I would go out fast. I always do. The first three miles were all ~7:30 min mile. I think I could easily beat my 5k pr at this point in racing. Around mile 4 there was a turn around and I realized I was the 5th female overall and pretty far in the front. The woman who was #4 I knew I would never catch, she was already way up ahead. The next woman behind me wasn't that far back either. At the five mile marker I was way ahead of my old time. By nearly four minutes. I stopped for water because I thought I should. I really need to start training with water stops, they are my downfall. Well that drink just swished in my stomach for the next mile and then around mile 6 I got a side cramp. I could have cried. I really just wanted to stop running. My pace dropped a lot. The next woman behind me passed me and all I could do was watch. I breathed through it. Mentally talked myself through it. I knew at mile 7 I could stop if I had to as we were passing the finish area and heading back in another direction for the last three miles. It really sucked. I stopped watching my pace. But by mile 7 it was getting better and I went on. Slowly I picked up speed again and I realized I only had 3 miles. What is 3 miles? Nothing! By mile 8 it was gone. And I was feeling good. 2 miles is really nothing. I hit the last turn back about 8.5 miles and realized I was home free. There were no more women behind me that could catch me and I was racing against the clock at this point. Mile 9 and I felt jubilant. I ran hard. I thought about my crappy partner and Katherine and Mandy's dh woes and I ran my a$$ off for us. For all the times I have been pissed and frustrated. For all the times I have been hurt and sad. I crossed the line in 1:17:25!! The last two miles were 7:30 min/mile or less. 6th woman across. I won my division. 7:45min/mile pace overall. That is amazing to me. I feel on top of the world right now. Oh how I love running endorphins.

So I am back on the racing track and loving it. Must shower and start the rest of my day. dp is being poopy for some reason but he can just stick it today. Hope everyone else has a great weekend!!

cReb-I have a friend that does birth photography. Here'sa link to her site. I think you would be awesome at it. And isn't JenLove maybe moving near you and TTC?

I was going to try a walk/run this morning, but J decided not to sleep last night, so I slept this morning instead.

Can you check the book out from the library and see if it sounds like something you would do? I know that somewhere there was a pretty comprehensive article online... I think saskiasmom linked it at some point... I will see if I can find that.

Hey mamas,

: I just waited around all day for this woman to come buy some antiques that we are selling. She was here a few days ago and all excited about buying some stuff. I gave her a price list that read like this "Item 1 $xxxUSD, Item 2 $xxxUSD..." After waiting around for hours she finally arrives, picks out a whole bunch of stuff and then when it is time to pay says, "Oh no! I thought these prices were in PESOS! This changes everything!"
I know I said "dollars" every time she asked for a price because I didn't want this exact thing to happen and that is why I wrote the prices for her, in case she wasn't listening to me!

And my computer's hard drive died today, with all of the things I kept not backing up on it! BACK UP YOUR HARDDRIVES MAMAS!

And I haven't run a real decent run in like two weeks or something. I need to run! I just realized I could hire a babysitter so I could run while dh is gone if need be.

Okay, pity party over.

I know there is a 3D pan for the skirt, is that what you used? Then did you just stick the doll down in the cake or how does that work? Very very cool - she looks wonderful. What did your DD say?

ETA: Shanti, we're making that carrot/parsnip/etc. soup tonight for the first time. I can't wait.
Yes it was a 3d pan for the skirt and then the doll just goes on top (well sort of sticks into it). And then the decorating...voila. She adored it! She was awestruck

WOW. This thread is IMPOSSIBLE to keep up with!

Just wanted to a bit. My weight-release had plateaued 7-10 lbs above pre-preg weight but after only ONE week back at running, my pre-pre clothes fit!!!! I am so bloody excited!

Running is amazing in everyway...
