hey all, I'm lovin the new smilie.... I'm giving myself a little pat on the back b/c I posted before the final was chosen to suggest that someone make it a smilie!! : It's so rare that anyone ever someone listens to my suggestions. :

Oh, and when I sent the other stuff to the FIN I just wrote a little note saying, from a fellow MDC mama. I didn't want them to be like, "what the heck is this??" when it came w/o a note or anything.

ooo, we're having more solid poops lately, and she's been farting up a storm... TMI, but I can actually smell her stinky farts wafting up from under the covers b/c she doesn't have a dipe on at night. We've now given her a slice of mango to play with as well (b/c we were having a family mango eating time, and thought it was cool for her to join in). She LOVED it, and I think she actually may have consumed some of it... maybe. I'm wondering if mango is a particuarly constipating food. She skipped her morning poo this morning.

Sounds good Andrea!

Okay, I'm going to post a little update for us while I have the chance.

I love the new smilie!

Well, Dree is sitting up now... she loves to attack the toys that get left on the floor. She thinks the Thomas Wooden Railway engines are her own personal teething toys and that makes ds mad. If she leans too far she'll fall over but she's sitting pretty well... and she does tons of push-ups too but no signs of crawling or going from a prone to sitting position without help.

No AF here yet. She was back at 6mo pp with dd1, but I was working and dd slept through the night. AF didn't return until ds was 13 months so I'm hoping for a year or so again.

Sleeping... I think she's waking 2-3 times between around 10pm and 8am. When she wakes up in the morning she coos, pulls my hair and such until I wake up all the way too. I bought new sheets last night for dd1 and ds' beds (to replace their ugly or scratchy sheets) so they are excited about that... five in a queen size bed is just too darn cramped so some nights ds and dd1 are in dd1's bed all night and other nights it's musical beds. We have two queen beds, a twin and a toddler bed and still end up with all five of us in one bed at times.

FIN: I have a couple of items that I could send, but I think it would cost as much as or more than they are worth to ship them, KWIM? Andi- just let me know your paypal and I'll send some on Friday.

Shahbazin- congrats to you mama! : I bet you'll see some weight loss... #2 and #3 pregnancies I lost weight until around 20 weeks because I tend to hold on to some weight while breastfeeding. Something about being PG and BF makes me lose weight.

Cindy- secret holiday gift swap sounds fun.

William had that formed stool a couple days back as I previously mentioned....Well this morning he was grunting turning red and screaming (never normal behavior for him) and all he got out was a tiny black ball so I decided it was time to call the dr. he suggested a couple remidies that i am reluctant to try but at this point i really don't know what else to do :

any hoo william ways 19 pounds 6 ounces can you believe it?
oh Erika, that'd be really scary.... It makes me feel bad that I'd said that it probably isn't anything to worry about. Do you think he ate something, or was the black ball actually poo???? We'd been having changes in poo lately too, but not like that, just a bit less runny then before, so I thought maybe it just might have been a little intestinal maturation.

hi guys!
I am so behind

mom2natandwill--this is terrible advice but I have found that a little bit of chocolate has always cured constipation in my babies :
I know many poeple would hate that advice but it really did help my kids-just a little bit though. Of course nursing a lot helps too but I am sure you are doing that already.

wyatt is wanting to eat everything-not just an interest in food-HE wants it! if he sees you with food he comes at you mouth open, GROWLING!! The kids think it is hilarious. I found him hiding a pizza crust in his hand-he was eating it. I am hoping someone gave it to him and he didn't just find it somewhere. He was being really quiet on the floor and had his hands cupped and looked lit he was eating his hand. I realized it wasn't his hand when he kept chewing. :

HE has just the slightest little bit of tooth poking through so i am thinking that is what has increased his interest in chewing everything.

we are not getting much sleep though-he wakes up about every three hours-not always wide awake just enough to wake me up because i am a light sleeper. I am starting to suffer from brain fogginess from lack of sleep.

I hate that I missed so much this time around--everyones babies are getting so big

wyatt is 22 lbs and 28 inches tall. He is starting to give big open mouth kisses where he slimes half your face-its so cute. he also babbles dadada all day long. i love this age!!

Just a reminder, mamas. Any swaps need to be run either off the board or in the Trading Post. Please PM me if you have any questions!
Thanks!

Hey mama! Wyatt sounds so cute... just like Audrey. She adores Breyer's Butter Almond ice cream... steals my spoon. : She is 6mo now but I don't think that ice cream is a good first food. Of my three, she is the first baby to actively want solids at this age.

Oh goodness, poor William! Audrey had some weird clods of something in her diaper the other day and my mom was here so we looked it over real well and figured out that is was chunks of paper... she'd been playing on the floor with the big kids and I found a page ripped out of a christmas store ad that ds had been poring over. Two big bites of paper were missing that were about the right size for the clods in her diaper. :

I wish I had time to be more conversational now, but I just had to share...

I just nursed Phoebe and put her in her crib, so she woke up from her milk coma like she always does. But THEN! After wiggling and playing and kicking for a few minutes...She fell asleep! On her own! Holy crap! :

Watch, as soon as I click "submit" she'll wake up. I hope I'm not jinxing this!

HOORAY FOR SLEEP!!
Looks like all your hard work is paying off.

Wow, is life busy! I wanted to share this picture of Kirsten, enjoying her favorite activity ~ emptying out my kid's plate cabinet! She's doing wonderfully, sleeping well (at least this week), and experimenting with all kinds of sounds. All day today it's been, "Dadadadadadada"! So cute!
Hey May Mamas! Not much time, DS is a fussin'. Who are we PPing the GC $$$ to? Gotta run...
Kristina ~ Kirsten looks like such a big girl sitting there like that!

Quinn is just starting to sit and still needs a boppy around him or he topples.

You know what cute thing he is doing though? Peek-a-boo!! I was covering his face with a blanket and saying Where's Quinn? There he is. Peek-a-boo etc. when he grabbed the blanket with his hands and kept the game going. He would cover his face and just as I said peek-a-boo, throw his arms down and smile. SO cute!

Oh yeah. I'm ready to send PP too.

mom2nat&will ~ How's the poop situation? We haven't had any that are formed yet but I have noticed that some of his poops have started to smell all of the sudden.

Fussin' boy. Bye...

Hi, mamas! I haven't even caught up on the thread yet, but wanted to check in.

I can't believe I missed all the holiday helper stuff on this thread! It's just as well, though, because I totally over-extended myself this year. I sent out 8 (!) boxes this week and 2 GCs and I have one box to go. The postage is what kills you--I think my family is going to be getting some very, erm, economical gifts this year.

Bun is doing well--nearly 6 months! No teeth yet, but lots more night-waking. Poor dh is getting absolutely slammed at work--so he comes, spends time with baby and me, then we put bun to sleep and eat dinner, then he works until midnight or 1am and bun is usually awake soon wanting to eat. I'm really hoping it's just the 6-month developmental/growth spurt, because last week she was back to sleeping through the night again.

Last night, she woke at 3:25 and dh and I were just DEAD tired. She was in her crib (she sleeps next to our bed) cooing and "talking" to her towel doll. We were so tired, that neither of us got up to get her--assuming she would start fussing soon and then we would get her. But she just talked and cooed for awhile and then went back to sleep on her own! What an angel.

She's been better about napping--usually one long one a day (anywhere from 40 minutes to 2 hours) and a couple of catnaps in my arms.

All right--off to try to get some stuff done while she's asleep. :

DD hasn't been taking those nice long naps like she was for a while - been a bit fussy on the evenings last couple of days, too. Solids - mildly entertained to put in mouth, suck on them a while, then drool them back out - water is in a sippy w/ the valve out, also amusing to let trickle out all over - does one ever get to feed children things w/out mopping off them & their immediate surroundings every time? : Busybusymomma - thank for the mention of wt loss, I'd noticed this & wondered - other than mild queasyness, I'm mostly just real tired, but then, w/a 6 mo old around, who can tell the difference - you're automatically tired anyway!

yes! This is the one I voted for too At least DD isn't real distractable NIP - auto dealership lounges, cars, parks at dog shows, the dog club annual dinner, all have been good.
Sent PP today.

DD's new room is being completed today! Finally, somewhere to put baby stuff, & floor space for her to play. Next - the bathroom rennovation, which will be dire. It's our only bathroom, & will need the ceiling replaced, as well as serious mold abatement - plus extending 1 end a bit to allow for bath/shower combo, instead of tiny shower stall. It'll be so nice to have stuff fixed up though, & we haven't had a bathtub in almost 15 yrs....

Wow, what a thread to catch up with!

We had our well-baby check-up this morning & Simon's doing great. He's a little "below average" in everything, but "well-proportioned" according to the charts. Anyway, we haven't started any solids, and since Simon's not sitting up by himself yet, I'm going to delay a little longer. I did notice yesterday that he's starting to get some pinchers going on!

The doctor also noted his mouthful of teeth. Tooth numero 5 popped in this week unnoticed by me until Wednesday. He must be working on number 6 now cause he's been biting me like crazy. It wouldn't be so bad except every time he bites me, I take him off the nipple and he laughs. Ouch!
