frugal gift for Grandpa?

I need gifts for two Grandpas.

One is mine. Over 70. Likes antiques, Westerns, Hank Williams Sr, Western Wear, outdoors.

One is fil. Over 55. Loves being a grandpa, likes fishing, coffee, holidays in general, rides a motorcyle and just bought a new truck.

My ideas are as follows, I am testing them for lameness.

1) For my grandpa I was thinking of getting one of those old fashioned looking tin signs, he has some on his barn and I think he might like more. Unfortunately the only ones I've seen are around $20 but I might be able to find some online for a better price.
2)The other idea is a framed pic of the kids in a Western look. They have one cowboy hat and it being just after Halloween I bet I can find some more costume stuff. The cost would only be the frame.
3) The only other thing to consider is he has a birthday right after Christmas, this I can wait on to mail him though (I'm giving his christmas gift when I see him next month)

For fil
1) dh wants to get a mug made with the kids picture on it. Being frugal I think $15 (w/ship) is too much.
2) I thought about making him a "hearth" themed gift basket. Some pinecone firestarts, gourmet coffee creamers, cocoa mixes, and something else when I can think of it.
3)An accessory for his new car. He has mentioned in the past when the kids were little and got him one of those beaded carseat covers so maybe that.

Other than kid gifts (aka easy!) these are the last things we need to take care of for Christmas so please do help me!

Thanks

I think the kids in Western gear sounds really fun. and none of your ideas are lame.

Might I sldo suggest food, especially homemade jam, goodies to freeze, roasted nuts and especially if they don't make that kind of stuff for themselves. kiddies can help of course. Also fingerless miits to keep aging hands warm. Most people at that age are not into acquiring a lot of STUFF. Calendars are also good and can be themed or done with family pix.

55 is not old of course. I am 53 but I am in a downsizing mood already! I like the hearth basket idea. I'd like one myself! Gift baskets are great abd need not be expensive. I get nice baskets at the thrift store and dress them up.

I usually avoid buying gifts for my father and FIL. Instead I'll frame photos of DD and DH together or donate money to an organization in their name...(of course an organization that they'd appreciate donating to!)
Both my dad and FIL have told us repeatedly not to spend money on them, so I try to do nice things for them, i.e., making sure DD, DH and I get to spend quality weekends with them. They say they appreciate this more than any gifts.
Just my $.02

just a thought.... renew a favorite magazine of theirs .... or give a gift subscription.... pay the annual dues to a club they belong to?

How about a birdfeeder for outdoor-loving Grandpa?

Last year we made Clay dough, DS made a mug with ice cubes for dad, a heart for grandma, and a spider for grandpa, ok I made them he kinda helped, but he did all the decorating using small nails, nuts, bolts and thin wire. The best gifts from kids are the ones they make, or get help making
