Smell of urine

Does anyone have any suggestions for how to get the smell of urine out of a mattress? My son hasn't wet the bed for ages and no longer has a mattress protector on.

I don't know for sure if it works...but I remember my mom sunning our mattresses when they stunk. It makes sense that it would if sunning dipes helps.

I have used baking soda when still wet. If it is dry then I have used Nature's Miracle pet stain and odour remover and it works well. My son wets the bed a lot.

I second the Nature's Miracle idea...

Vinegar is great at removing pee smell. I used it in the rinse cycle when I was washing diapers. Also, Bac-Out is a great odor and stain remover.

: That's probably where I'd start. You can also try borax or baking soda.

Kids n' Pets enzyme cleaner if nothing natural works. You can let it soak in and dry. Then wet it or apply again and suck with a wet/dry vaccum or blot with a towel.
