Who's Still BFing another child? - Page 2

Has anyone yet been feeling uncomfortable nursing? I don't mean nipple pain (I have a little of that), but more the heebie-jeebies... normally DS wakes up around 5am and nurses on and off for about an hour and I doze during that time, but for the past two days I've been feeling a very uncomfortable creepy-crawly feeling that makes it impossible for me to fall back asleep. I've had to cut him off a few times because I can't stand it, though I try to as long as I can. I was really hoping that that nursing session would be the last to go as he weans because I like cuddling with him in the morning and I like the extra hour of sleep but I don't think I'll be able to keep this up if it's already this bad! The other 2 nursing sessions (naptime and before bed) are fine... I think because I'm not trying to sleep. Anyone else feeling this? I've read of posts on Breastfeeding Beyond Infancy that address this, so I was expecting it to some extent, but not this early in the pg!!

I get the heebie-jeebies too. sometimes I just want to scream! but I'm also having a good bit of nipple pain which is making it especially challenging :

hi nursing mamas. my dd is 3.5 and still nurses several times a day and about every two hours at night. she was nursing non-stop right as i started to suspect we were pregnant, but has already relaxed a wee bit. she's a very, uh, commited nurser, and i fully expect to be tandeming if everything goes as planned. latch on is slightly painful, but, since we had a miscarrige last winter, all signs are good signs, and i don't mind at all.
hi goddessjulia! nice to see another pregnant mama to an "older" nursling. do you think your dc will nurse through the pregnancy?

I just found out today that I'm pregant, and I am nursing my 16 month old daughter all day and all night. I'm so glad to hear that many of your babes have increased nursing since you've been pregnant. My dd has been nursing like crazy for the last week or so. I suspect she will nurse through this pregnacy, but that's just my gut feeling. Part of me wishes she would wean, but another part hates for our bf relationship to end. I guess I'll just have to see what happens.

My DD is 6 months, so we're obviously BF'ing; I'm planning to tandem, & hope that my supply won't go down too much - we'll introduce solids & a cup this month, & supplement if needed in the future. Does anyone know if you're more likely to not have a major supply drop if you're a bit plump? I'm hoping my body will say "plenty for all!" & keep producing.

I'm nusring too. Ds is 19.5m now. We're letting him go as long as he wants or until my milk either dries up or it gets painful. The only thing I'm concerned about is how many additional cals I should be eating now. I'm just following my hunger wich is slowely increasing, but I know that wicked ms is just around the corner.

DS just turned one and is still nursing like a champ! He loves the boob! My nipples are a bit tender and I bet it will only get worse as seriously tender breasts has been the major signal to me each (4 times) time I've been pg.

my story is the same as so many here...my son is 17 mos and he is nursing more than ever, I think he "knew" I was knocked up before I did.

I really want to continue throughout and tandem once the baby comes, I do believe it will make our transition to a foursome easier for him and help him bond with the babe, so that's my goal...

currently I'm trying to figure out how we will adapt our sleeping arrangements, right now it's all three of us in the kingsize and that's great, I just don't know about the logistics of a toddler and a newborn in the same bed, although I suppose if people have been doing it for thousands of years, I can figure it out too!

I'm nursing ds, 14mo. Not much has changed yet (maybe I havent noticed yet because I just found out I'm pregnant today, lol).

Mmm...oatmeal...that would explain why I've been craving and eating about two oatmeal cookies a day at my mom's health food store?

Shabazin-have you been on kellymom about solids info? Also wholesomebabyfoods.com is great as well and has a whole allergy lsit etc. Also are you pumping or can you? Do you already have some freezer supply saved up? This might help in case your supply does drop later, you won't have to use formula. Hopefully it won't-another mom said someting about the stats on here. Also since your 6m old is devinately nursing more than our babies, maybe the supply/demand will keep up-eat that oatmeal But if you can pump, definately try to once the solids are going good, since you'll be cutting out some nursing sessions.
