PTSD crisis - Page 2

Hi Piepie, I just was lurking. I just wanted to say that when I was undergoing therapy for PTSD, keeping a notebook really helped alot. I would just write everything I was feeling, dreams, and flashbacks. It was very catharctic for me. I also drew pictures of memories that I had and that helped also.
Exercise really lifts the spirits if you can bring yourself to do it. Even just going for a long walk. I resisted exercise for a long time because of anxiety and depression but when I started it made me feel so good I wondered why I waited so long to take my therapist's advice to exercise.
I also wanted to say I have really come through it after 10 years of therapy and I've been feeling wonderful for over 6 years.

PTSD crisis

Hi Piepie, how bizzare and wonderful to find this site based on my google for PTSD crisis. I am glad you are feeling less shakey-anxious. I am trying to recover from my own but that is another story. Our minds just can't seem to grasp the reality of now sometimes, this is now, that was then. Good luck.

PiepIe and everyone else that has posted...thank you for your courage to come here and post about something some many don't understand or even really know it exists.
I too have PTSD...it is very real. I have taken meds on and off through the years and mainly since my kids have come along, I have been off meds...but am feeling the pull to have to go back to meds...

I too have seen the same therapist since 1993....taking short breaks here and there.

PTSD, recently, comes up fror me when dealing with my children is certain issues. I struggle, stumble and pull myself back up.
I am pretty stable, most of the time...it is the in between times that catch me by surprise and when it happens...it slams me...HARD!

I am getting ready to leave for the holidays....when I return I will come back and read up on the posts here...

Thanks for sharing ladies....we are all wanted and needed here!

I just poured everything out on another thread so I don't have the energy to do it here again but just wanted to chime in and say you are definitely not alone and I hope you are well.

Hi pie pie, You know PTSD stinks and I am sorry any of us get to deal with it. How is your doc about this? Do you have a good relationship with that person? Do you find that being triggered gets misunderstood? I hope you are feeling well and rested some now. I wish I had a magic pill. Take care.
