I was also on the call. I enjoyed it
I too felt like she was a very real person. She noted several times that WAP wants to meet people where they are at. I liked that she gave a lot of practical suggestions on how to make "normal" supermarket foods work.
I feel like she does have a big emphasis on the formula, but I agree with you Elizabeth - it's something she can help with. I just don't like her emphasis (especially in NT) on the fact that low milk supply/low quality milk seems to be a problem for many women. I feel like if you're going with NT principles your milk will be very rich.
I did like that she talked about the supplemental nurser. I feel like the best thing to say for a baby not thriving is that mom start on the WAP pregnant/nursing mother diet right away and supplement baby with the formula through the SNS as mom's own body rebuilds its stores and starts producing rich breastmilk.
There is so much to chew on (no pun intended!) and it has led me to re-think things over. I have some NT/WAP things noted on my website but I really think I'm going to add more in because I really think it's best for the health of babies. I still emphasize breastfeeding though...
