Well it wasnt actually the wic office per say but it was the breastfeeding room w/ Lc's that is part of WIC. Well i went in for my normal appt at the other office to get my WIC coupons and after I was done I stopped the breastfeeding room to let DD sleep, they have couchs to sit on and are usually very friendly ( DD was sleeping in her moby wrap and I didnt want to wake her) and when I knocked the LC SAID do u need to feed her I said no I just dont want to wake her and put her in the car since she wasnt feeling well so I thought I would hand out until she wakes, feed her then leave and be on my nerry way. LC said well I was just going to show a mom how to pump so if you are not going to be feeding her....... I cut her off here and asked the mom if she was uncomfotable w/ my siiting on the couch in the room while she pumped she was cool with it so I went in. LC then gave me an attitude.......... While she was pumping LC gave her water saying it important to drink while bfing and some goodies like breast pads mothers milk tea etc.,..
Well mother finished then left DD woke up and I askd LC to weigh her before I feed her to see how much she is eating ( having supply issues latley cuz DD is teething and not eating much ) she said okay they gave attitude....... while feeding DD she never offers me water like the other mom nor talks about mothers milk tea (HELLO just told her Im having a supply issues................ I am taking fenugreek and mothers milk tea but I never told her that) anyhow DD get weighed after eating and she only ate 2 oz then LC said she sould be eating 9friggen oz at a time now (DD 6mo) and eating only 4-6 times a day. I tell her DD eats every 1-3 hours and am not concerned w/ how much she eats since she weighs 21 lbs and is off the charts no worry about lack of food them she asks how much solids do I give her and I say I maybe give her solids 4-5 x a week 1 a day varies between fruit veg or oatmeal, she says that I NEED to be feeding her ceral everyday because she doesnt get enough nutrition from breastmilk boy did she get an earful from me, them she says baby needs to eat meat and I say NO she doesnt and DD wont get any until she is over 1 year pureeed meat is gross. She went on to tell me that DD NEEDS solids because she NEEDS protien iron etc.... I said she gets that from breastmilk............ we argued for awhile until I was just so mad I walk out.
I was very mad I was treated differntly than the other mom and that she was giving me mis information and told me not to BF to much and to give her solds cuz that is what she needs.
Oh she also siad I need to stop bfing at 1 year, then I told her I plan to BF DD until she weans herself ( but at least 1 year for sure) even if she BF's until she is 3.
Im just so dang mad anyone have anything I can print and give to Her to show her she is WRONG
