Paint fumes? need answer quick!!

I painted my dd room taday and I was wondering if this is going to affect my milk. My son is 8 months old.

*whine* You're supposed to say paint fumes are terrible bad for mama milk so I don't have to help paint in the very near future.

It's worth it for both your health and your baby's health to buy low or no VOC paints. (VOCs are volatile organic compounds). Paints can offgas for years and affect you and your baby directly when you breathe the vapors in. Really not healthy for either of you to breathe, especially a little baby.

Benjamin Moore makes Ecospec, a low VOC paint, and I think some of the other big companies make them as well.

I just read this today somewhere but can't remember where (on MDC???), so I don't know if it works well or not but...

You could try leaving an onion cut in half (cut sides up) or small bowls of milk in the room to help get rid of the paint smell.

Let me know if it works...
