Can I start delaying once I've already started?

I'm having some second thoughts about vaxing him on THEIR schedule, especially since the 2mo well-baby check and the 4 shots they gave at one time.: Since I've already started, is there any harm in stopping?

After typing, it sounds like a stupid question, but I know some of these shots are given in stages, so if he's had stage one, will it hurt him not to have stage two until a later (much later) date?

Thanks in advance.

There is no problem with delaying (or stopping) once started.

not a problem at all

my ds was being vaxed on a very delayed and selective schedule. We got him the measles only vax at 27 months and we haven't been back and don't plan on going back unless something changes our mind in the future.

There is no harm in stopping and vaxes can be picked up again where you left off...if you do actually decide to pick them up again after doing research. The CDC aknowledges this:

"...[A] longer-than-recommended interval[] between [vaccine] doses do[es] not reduce final antibody concentrations, although protection might not be attained until the recommended number of doses has been administered. An interruption in the vaccination schedule does not require restarting the entire series of a vaccine or toxiod or the addition of extra doses."

http://www.cdc.gov/mmwr/PDF/rr/rr5102.pdf - can be found at the top of page 8.

We vaxed our daughter for the first 6 months of her life and then stopped. She's now 27 months old and won't ever receive another vaccine.
