Hi, I'm Erin, 5 weeks pregnant and nursing my daughter, Haylee, 13 months. I too have noticed something odd, but not really a problem, with her nursing. She wants to nurse way more, and at night she doesn't seem to get that full, drift off to sleep, belly, although it seems as if she is swallowing just as much. And she seems to be comfort nursing a lot during the day, which she has never done! anyway...glad to have found this thread and wishing you all tough nipples and strong mindsets!
As a side note, my aunt exclaimed when I told her I was pregnant that I was going to deprive the baby of nutrients because Haylee was still nursing and that I must stop immediately. I told her it was an old wive's tale, but I don't tink I convinced her. Kellymom.com has some great info on tandem nursing, and I just ordered the book "Adventures in Tandem Nursing" so I will let you all know waht I think when I get it!

I am so happy to see you here!!

! I still feel letdown and can still hear dd swallowing...as much as she did before (at least I think so), but she wants to nruse a lot more and stays latched on for a long time. It hurts like crazy, but its very special for me right now...she never comfort nursed and she has been al ot more the past week. When she was done sucking she was done. And she still seems satisfied when we are done, so I think she is still getting enough, but I guess I don't really know for sure.

Dd seems ok with the cut backs, if I offer her milk "in a cup" (which can be anything). But night weaning still seems too much for her. I am hoping one day she will just sleep through the night.
