Hospital visit last night :(

I went into the hospital last night because I was violently throwing up and having diarrhea. It was really weird because I felt fine and then just started throwing up. It lasted like 20 minutes then stopped. By that time I had called the OB and he told me to go in and said he was going to have me spend the night and put an IV in and give me fluids and something to stop the vomitting. By the time I got there I felt fine and I was able to drink a bottle of water during the NST so they let me go home/no IV or meds. It was just really weird. Wondering if this is at all normal at the end of pg. Maybe I just ate too much. I have been really sick for most of the pg so throwing up wasn't weird, I just felt so much worse then usual and it just felt like something was wrong for some reason. I feel okay today just a bit quesy and run down.

Oh in Canada we have this flu thingy going around lately. its like a virus where people throw up violently and have bad diarrhea and cramping and also have like a burning feeling in their veins. Its called "Norovirus". It has hit ALOT of places around where i live.
I dont know if its anywhere else..

Could u have the flu maybe?

I just posted this!! I was in the hospital too! I was very light headed, had diarrhea, and was throwing up. It was awful! They kept me overnight to check the baby.....no IV's or Meds......didnt get any sleep either. Anyway, I was thinking that if that wasn't going to start labour then nothing would!! They don't know why I was sick but suspected that it was the food I ate which happened to be McDonalds (which I NEVER eat!!!!)

I don't know if this is normal near the end of a pregnancy....this is my third and it didn't happen with the first two so I don't know.....All i Know is it was awful and I am sorry you had to go through this as well!!!!

Sorry to hear other mamas have been sick too! They didn't mention the flu and the HP but then again they didn't give me any real explanation. I just get so nervous when I am so sick that I have some virus or food poisening that is going to hurt the baby and they won't catch it. I know I am probably just being paranoid but I am just ready to have her out here with me where I can see that she is fine!

Umm..

Canada is a big country.

We dont have it here. You can keep it on your side of the Rockies.

Note: Loose BM's are a sign of your body cleaning things out in prep for labour.

It *could* be your body's way of starting labour (the puking and whatnot) I know I puked in early labour with DD. I mean as soon as I started dialating...I hit One CM then :Puke

So mabe your body dialated one CM? lol who knows. I'm glad you're feeling better though.

oh yeah I had Norwalk virus when I was pregnant with my DD. I needed 4 litres of IV fluids, a NST and a fluid check US after 3 days of vomiting and diareah.

So glad you're feeling ok

Sounds like you don't have to worry and I'm sure babe is fine!
Rest up and let us know how you are doing :-)
