The short version,

Contractions started at 5am. I got into the water at 6am. Alex was born at 7:45am and caught by his father after 5 minutes of pushing. The midwife showed up at 7:50am.

Now back to sleeping with the baby. :

Congratulations!!! I bet your dh will never forget catching his son! My dh caught our first and I know it's a very special memory for him. I caught Jove , our newest little guy, and I'll never forget how wonderful it felt!!!!

I wish my dh was here to catch this baby--he is deployed...
I'm hoping my dd (4yr old) will really have this great experience of being there and maybe touching baby as s/he comes out...in lieu of dh catching!

I forgot to mention, He was 9lbs 8oz, 21.5 inches long, and his head is 14cm.
