It's been a long time...

since I posted, because I didn't really feel I belonged here anymore. I was due today, November 5, but I had my baby on July 19, at 24 weeks. She weighed 1 pound, 11 ounces. After 93 days in the hospital, we brought her home two weeks ago. Here are some photos, the last one of which was taken not long before we left the hospital. She's still on oxygen, an apnea monitor, and has a feeding tube (she's able to breastfeed when she's awake, but she's still a sleepy little thing!), but she's doing very well. We're just glad to finally have her home!

the day she was born

jaundiced

Daddy's wedding ring fit around her wrist!

5 pounds, and almost ready to leave the hospital!

Please know that you are still welcome here, mama! I have a friend over at my blogging site (and I believe she posts at MDC, too...) who was due the day before me and had her daughter at 24 weeks, also (due to PIH in her case).

I'm glad she's home now! Congratulations on your little girl!!!

Angel,
So sweet you posted. You are welcome here anytime. Maybe you will give my friend some inspiration; her son was born last monday at 900grams (about 2 lbs) and maybe if she reads your mail she will feel a little better.

Come on in...tell us about your birth story and your baby time in hospital or now (congrats!) at home. You are a part of this due date club.

How are you feeling about taking your cutie home?

Congrats to you and your family!

Congrats on your daughter

I'm so glad she is home with you now.
That must have been such a long and difficult NICU stay for you. I can't begin to imagine. Many hugs and lots of congrats on your dear little babe. She is just precious. Thanks so much for the pictures!!

I had a neighbor who was born around the size of your daughter and I believe at the same week gestation. If you look at that boy now you would never know he was a preemie, he is twice as big as my son who is just a bit younger than him. He's just turned 5 and plenty healthy!! :-)

Here's to bringing your daughter home and seeing her continue to progress and grow!
Please share us more news as she meets her milestones!

so glad to hear that everything is fine...can you believe that NOW is when you were due to deliver? Think of how tired you would've been? Now you can have a relaxing Thanksgiving! heehee (gee--I always try to see the positive, but it can be annoying I know... hehehe)
Glad you're back!
