I HATE the whole 'due date' thing and we hardly told anyone because its just so inacurate but anyway...

Hey you...

not yet, but rapidly approaching. I'm trying not to get in that mindset. You're right, it is so silly , it's just an arbitrary date.
If it weren't for all the people i don't even KNOW that keep making ridiculous comments to me...like, were you do yesterday? (a week ago) and you look like you're ready to burst etc...it might be easier to stay relaxed.

I'm just so excited to meet this baby but I know he will come when he is ready!! I've told Scott to whisper to the baby to come on out and meet us, and he'll get up to my belly and say: brother, come out when you're ready!)
Smart boy, huh?

Erica

Remember...it's just a date...baby will come sometime soon, whenever he or she is ready. It is going to be GREAT!!!

Arbitrary due date - NOV. 3rd (last Friday)...But NOT "Post term" or "overdue" until Nov. 18th!!!!

Gals - DON'T FORGET THE DISTINCTION!!!!!!!!! (she says trying to remind herself!!)

Not yet, but getting closer. Of course, I figured my due date for 11/16. Then had an u/s that said 11/12. So I guess I'm not really gonna feel "overdue" until after 11/16.

My due date was November 1st.
Ultrasounds showed that to be fairly accurate.

I thinK i mite be in early labor though...woke up at 0450 am having contractions (crampy strong ones) and they were 10 mins apart.
They sort of disappeared at 0900 am. Sooo its a waiting game to see what happens next.
I feel yucky though. heh.
i am going to shower.

Almost... I'm "due" in 3 days (on 11/9). I'm getting anxious - wanting to know when it'll happen, whether my water will break, if I'll be able to tell prodromal labor from the "real" thing, will it be before or after DD's naptime, , etc.

I'm all for him coming when he's ready, but this is the most anxious I've been so far. I have a friend who told me I "had better" email her everyday this week so that she doesn't think I'm in labor if I don't email. : It's comments like that that are making me anxious. Seriously, does she think she's helping??

My mother is like this - I FIND IT REALLY ANNOYING! When I was pregnant w/ DS - she called daily (and transatlantically!). He came 13 days "late". With DD I fudged my dates so she wouldn't call. Now I didn't fudge the dates and she calls me DAILY...EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEK! "How are you feeling and BTW - can I take you out to lunch? Everytime the phone rings, I think it's babykins (her name, not ours)...blah, blah, blah..." And now she lives only 5 minutes away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm surprisingly ok with this babe still in there everyday that passes I slowly get more and more things done that I want before it arrives

People calling is REALLY annoying though : If I told you I would call you when the baby arrived then I WILL CALL YOU!!!!!! I'm tempted to say 'oh yeah we had the baby 2 weeks ago sorry I didn't call' anyway... I know it'll be here when its ready but maybe I should have told people the end of November instead of the begining :

I've just begun my 43rd week of pregnancy. Tried herbal induction over the weekend and it had some effect, but didn't kick in anything regular. However, today I've been having contractions all day and they're getting closer together. It's my slowest labor ever if I am indeed in the "real thing." My first was less than 12 hours, my second less than 5.

I really hope this is it, because my midwife is leaving the state on Wednesday and I haven't met her back-up. Not to mention how I've been "ready" to be done and meet my son for over a month now!

Yay, another contraction...

Amen!!

Something about when you hit the 37 week mark seems to turn [most] friends/family into obsessed crazed vigilantes who have to hunt us down to make sure they didn't miss the birth. It is so annoying!

MommyMichele ~ You must be one patient woman. I hope this is it for you!

I am due on Wednesday but my parents call every single day at least once to say... "Anything?" or "Is the baby coming today?"... they didn't go to church yesterday just in case the baby was to arrive. It is very annoying even though I know it is out of interest and concern. I almost feel like I disappoint them.

I'm so thankful that I told everyone the 'later' date! hahaha My 'due date' is anywhere between 17-24 Nov, depending on who I tell...so at this point I don't even know who I"ve told what to! I tease that I think it will be around Thanksgiving, but I HOPE it's before Xmas! hahahha
There are some people that I wish I hadn't even told anything to...ie, I'm not pg! hahah

Funny--my inlaws USUALLY are up my butt asking me if I've had the baby...but this time there are 2 reasons why I think they aren't paying attention. One, my dh is deployed, and he is in a 'good place' (a carribean island!) so they are intent on going to visit him--which kinda pisses me off since he only is allowed 2 wks of 'family time' and I think I SHOULD GET IT WITH HIS NEW DD OR DS! but, I digress...
ANyways, they have called to ask which island he is on (they've been told before, but he isn't important to them unless they can get something out of it...) adn then as a 'side note' may ask how I am feeling...but I have started just screening calls and not answering them at all....I'm a bitch...
I feel bad though because some of my IL's I really like, but I can't call them without 'offending' the others...ugh, so I don't need the stress and I don't call anyone...
ANYWAYS--sorry to turn this into a mini-vent from Bobbi! hahaha

It's wierd, I've been starting to feel overdue even though it's still a week from my due date just because my midwife thought I'd go early this time! But I keep reminding myself that even if the baby does come really "late" that I will never again have the experience of "pre-baby life." It kind of puts things in perspective....
Eva (SweetnKindMama), we call our baby Roo also! And to top off the coincidences, if our "Roo" is a boy, his middle name will be River!

Just one day past mine

and i've got a backup midwife I dislike at my birth center right now, my actual midwife doesn't get back into town until next tuesday. The back-up midwife has been skittish about my baby's heart rate, so she sent me to the hospital for a overnight NST two days ago. everything was alright on the baby's BPP today though so she seems to be appeased and won't try to do anything induction-like.
