how long does the water last?? re birth tub?

Ok I have heard that the water lasts about 3 days. I *thought* I was in labor last week so we filled it up and then... emptied it 3 days later, fun
I REALLY want to get in it again but don't want to have DH fill it and then by chance have to empty it before babe comes.

My doula told me a client put 1/2 cup of bleach in the water and it lasted 2 weeks but I really don't feel comfortable doing this.

Is it just that the water gets bacteria or what??

yes, standing water collects/grows bacteria.

i asked the woman i am renting my aqua-doula from, and even with a heater and cover she said 48 hours.

if you are on city water, i would say 72 hours. (i'm on well water)

We have the same issue! We were told my MW/MW assist. to fill tub a couple of weeks ago. We were told 1/2 cup of bleach every 2 days if you're using the pool and every 4 days if you're not.

Our Spa N a Box holds around 250+ gallons - A LOT OF WATER - and we've been dosing it with one of the sanitizing chemicals it came with - IN VERY VERY LOW DOSES...

If you have a faucet adapter and a drain & fill pump, it should only take about 30 minutes to drain your pool, and it goes right back into your sink and down the drain. All you do is turn on your cold water full blast to provide the pressure, and then turn the ring on the bottm of the drain & fill pump, which reverses the flow and pulls the water out of the pool. You don't have to touch any water or buckets or anything. It's painless!

Faucet adapters Most people use the white one.

Drain & Fill pump

This way you can change the water to really be safe.

I dont' know if it's different, but the place I rented my tub from said if the baby wasn't born in 24 hours they would have to drain and re-fill the tub. That might just be them covering their booties, though!
